On delta.com I noticed some new non-stop flights from Boston to Orlando for December through February at least. I haven't checked the entire Delta system schedule but if you were affected by a flight cancellation and re-assigned to an inferior connecting flight or day/hour, you might want to re-check the schedules and see if a new non-stop has re-appeared.
Then ask for a ticket change with no change fee or fare increase, explaining that your original original booking was for a non-stop.
Whether over the phone or at an airport ticket counter, feel free to ask "for a supervisor" if the first person you talk to "cannot" make the change.
