New DDP rules keeping people from purchasing?

My wife and I purchased the DDP the last two years as it was worth it to us.

We decided to take a trip the last two weeks of February (leaving in 4 days!!) and decided AGAINST purchasing the dining plan as we now feel it is NOT worth it with the new changes.

I called last week to make ADRs assuming I would not get a few as I was calling late. Well, I reserved everything I wanted including Le Cellier, CRT, and Yak & Yeti.

I was surprised I got all the ADRs I wanted for two reasons-one, we are going during a very busy time (and I called two weeks before leaving) and two, it has been very difficult in the past to get ADRs, especially Le Cellier and CRT.

The only thing I can think of that would allow me to get the ADRs I wanted would be the lack of people purchasing the DDP. Would you agree?

No. :)

People that don't have the DDP are still allowed to eat at those restaurants. ;)

I think you just got very, very lucky. :thumbsup2

Last two weeks in Feb (excluding holidays) is not a real busy time.

Have a great trip.

herc.

I think that does have something to do with it. It will be a fairly busy time (not like Easter week) but a lot of the northeast has school vacations those weeks. Yes, people without the dining plan can still eat at those restaurants, and will, but not in the same numbers as before, IMHO. I know the time we had the DDP we ate a lot more table service meals than we would have without the plan. It will be interesting to see how the whole thing plays out.
