looks like there are changes are coming in the ddp offerings
On virgin web site there offering a new DDP for next year
It will be 2 CS per day and 2 snacks per day + a refillable mug
https://www.virginholidays.co.uk/ex...actions/walt_disney_world/tickets_prices.aspx
cost to the uk market is £18 adult £7 child, would expect the $ amount for usa virsion to be a lot less,we all know virgins mark up
Heck there charging £59 next year for a chef mickey meal and in the sates if you booked direct for this year its only $29.99
Plan for us no good as we wouldent eat 2 CS per day for 2 weeks
But they might offer the free DDP on a like for like
Book a value get the lite virsion
Book a mod get the standard version
Book a delux get the delux version
Just a thought

We wouldnt have 2 CS per day neither, much prefer a TS on an evening, so is this a definite change for next year?

agree with you paul, we would not like to eat 2 cs service meals a day, we like to sit in the evenings at a table with a nice meal and a bottle of wine or a nice cold cold beer when we are on our holidays.

We only ever have one CS a day but I presume you could use this new version of DDP for lunch and breakfast? You wouldn't have to take the second CS for dinner, so it could be quite good.

sounds quite different- we quite like the TS with the package, as it made a nice change to CS.

I'm going to wait and see what the "official" announcement will be in August, there may be some changes to the dining plan but I'm not guessing I want facts first.

Can't believe what they're charging for character meals, even with a limo pickup and dropoff that seems excessive per person!

i`am not guessing, the facts are there on there site,uk folks book more in advance that usa,and virgin are a major disney partner

My initial thoughts on it would be -where is the incentive? I think that you would be hard pressed to get maximum value out of this on a 2 or 3 week stay.Certainly not a plan that we would be intrested in,having looked at the CS menus for our DDP this year, there is not alot of variety & Chicken tenders or burger is ok occassionaly but I wouldn't want to eat it for the duration!
SD:thumbsup2

I cant imagine any one wantng to live on CS meals for 2 weeks, even if you are a fan of them I think you would want a few TS meals during your stay.

Imagine how you would feel after 2 weeks of CS meals......  , all that fatty food!

I'm not having a freak out here I just want to know what's going on.
There was no mention of this option on the Walt Disney Travel Co. brochure,
only the basic or deluxe plans and the option to add Wine to either plan. Even on the Disney website there's no mention of it yet and last month they were still negotiating the contracts and terms of next years DDP we asked a CM.
Since we booked the basic plan that's what we want to get with one snack one Cs and one Ts per guest per day, not all Cs which we didn't ask for. There is no way we could get through 2 weeks of eating that kind of food all the time.
That's why we are waiting until August to find out where what changes are announced and then where we stand with our booking.

But looking at that price it does include collection by limousine and then a trip across to DTD in the limousine after dinner, mind you not alot of point if onsite esp if staying at the CR :rotfl:

Claire ;)

from the wording on Virgins site this looks like an extra plan not a replacement. I find it hard to beleve that anyone would want to eat that much CS though

Yeah, it looks like it is another DDP package as an extra option rather than a renivention of the exsiting plan.

It is not a private limo though, you have to share with another family.:confused3

To be fair we have had a fair few CS meals and not an ounce of fat on them. Healthy turkey and fresh veg and very nice too. also had salmon. It would probably suit us as the one thing we didn't like about the ddp was having wait around restaurants waiting to eat and having to be at particular parks for set times.

Yeah I was gonna say, not all the CS food is burgers and fries.. In Epcot especially there is a really nice selection :) We didn't get to try many last year as we mostly used our TS credits for main meals and CS for breakfast so we didn't feel so overwhelmed with all the food.
