New contract- what are the chances of booking?

We are currently in ROFR (sent 8/25) for a contract at BCV. It's a loaded contract with 208 banked 2013 points and we asked to have the 183 2014 points banked as well. The UY is February and the contract is 210 points with another 210 coming in February 2015. What are the chances that we can use the 208 points before they expire on 2/1/15? We wanted to plan a trip in December, but are flexible with dates. Thanks!

this december? no. that is THE busiest time for DVC bookings and many owners book at 11 months out.

maybe, maybe something in january in a non-holiday period...

Yes, December 2014 as we have to use the points by 2/1/15. I guess we'll just have to look online after we close and see what's available. Thanks

No I asked to evaluate your chances of passing ROFR .... Which are are probably pretty good .....your best bet booking would be January after Martin Luther Kings day at OKW, Saratoga or AKV

If you are willing to move daily between rooms and resorts there is a slim chance you could piece together a December reservation- maybe using some cash nights between point nights but that would be a truly exhausting vacation as far as I would be concerned. You have almost another 2 months before you can book and by that time there may be random 1 nighters woven through Dec. but not much more. You do however have a good chance of being able to use the points for a late Jan weekday vacation as long as it is not during a holiday weekend and after the marathon. You must however be open to all room sizes and resorts for this booking to even work.

Thanks! We're only planning on 4 nights at the most and with 208 points, it doesn't matter to us what we book, even if it's bigger than what we need. We'll see what availability looks like. The waiting is awful.

December is tough, but not impossible...even last minute. One of my daughters got New Years Eve (!) at the last minute two years in a row. So you never know.

Also, a lot depends on how flexible your travel plans are. If you can just book and go (my daughter's situation), your chances are a lot better than if you have to seek permission from your boss, book airfare, etc, etc.

Worst case scenario, you deposit the 2013 points into RCI rather than losing them and get a nice trip somewhere with those points.

Just wanted to chime in and say we are (hopefully) in a similar position. If we pass ROFR (sent 8/21) we will have 106 pts from 2013. Ours don't expire until May 31 so we have a bit more time than you but I do plan to at least look to see if we could piece together something in December. We would be looking around the 17th to the 22nd although we could be flexible.

Just wanted to chime in and say we are (hopefully) in a similar position. If we pass ROFR (sent 8/21) we will have 106 pts from 2013. Ours don't expire until May 31 so we have a bit more time than you but I do plan to at least look to see if we could piece together something in December. We would be looking around the 17th to the 22nd although we could be flexible. Good luck!!

We found out that we passed ROFR and are awaiting our closing docs. I'm still holding out hope that we can book a December trip. (or January if we have to) I hate the idea of losing so many points and I really don't want to transfer to RCI. My hope is that since we have so many points we can book something bigger, like a 1 or 2 bedroom, and there may be availability. I guess we just have to wait and see.

I've noticed (and this is a generalization) that the third week of December seems like its still available in some locations right now. This is because point requirements go up, but it is not yet the holidays.

However, it sounds like you may have another few weeks before you get your points. Getting into anything DVC gets slimmer by the day.

True about the points, the main reason we chose this contract was because it was loaded and we wanted a December trip. I've been going to Disney since I was 3 and never been at Christmas. Now that we have children, I know it would be so magical for them. (And us too!) I've heard that about the week before Christmas, that's what I'm hoping for. We have 208 points to use, so hopefully we can find at least a 1 bedroom, a 2 bedroom would be even better, but I don't know what our chances are like.

We received and mailed back our closing docs and I was hopeful that we would have our points this week or next, but the seller has been away and can't send their docs until today, at the earliest. So disappointing...

We're waiting to close as well, the seller hasn't sent in their paperwork yet since they've been away. We're still clinging to the hope that we can book a December trip. I'd love to be there for Christmas and the main motivator is that we need to use those 2013 points by 2/1. Haha. We'd like to go in May and October as well to use the 2014 points
