When I made my upcoming reservation, I made it for our 27ft TT on a preferred site. Last week we bought a 36ft Class A. Do I need to call the fort and let them know I have a different unit?

It would be best for you to call they assign site on length of your RV. They may assign you a site to small for your new MH.

Definitely let them know - be sure to tell them about slides/awning too.

Yes ! And tell them ya wanna be close to the water for all that xtra fishing equipment your able to bring now with all that xtra space ! :thumbsup2

And welcome to the boards and congrats on your new camper ! :thumbsup2

I've been lurking for a few years now. I called the reservation peopl and they seemed confused, but I think I finally was able to communicate with her. She seemed bent on getting me into a premium site. I booked a preferred. Last year we had a regular site near the marina and it was great. The year before, gas was expensive so we stayed in a cabin. We love the Fort. 2 months ago, my wife and I satyed at AKL for a couple of days. It was nice, but not the same.

Anyway, I will take congratulations when the coach is ready to roll. I bought it from a bank after a repo. When i got it less than a week ago, the slide did not work. the generator did not work, the jacks did not work. The main TV had been stolen out of the dash. The carpet was filthy. It did however make it 250 miles home without so much as a hiccup after i bought a new headlight and a few fuses. The tires were like new.

Today, the slide works (the house batteries were kaput!). The generator runs like a top (the carb was full of curds and whey and the spark plugs had stalagtities growing from them). The jacks are working fine(the parking brake switch was sticking). The new TV is on the floor next to my desk in the office. The carpet has been shampooed and is passable. I have driven it a total of 550 miles without a problem. the tires are like new and only 2 years old.

I did find a rotten piece of sausage? in a baggie stuck in the icemaker in the freezer. I have moss or maybe lichen growing in the slide out awning. When it warms up, the entire outside needs a major bath. The radio is a brick (power coming in, a good ground and no response from the radio. a new one is on its way.) I ordered PoliGlo for the outside.

It is a 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 36 with a galley slide. It has ceramic tile floors in the kitchen and bath and corian countertops. There must be 25 110v outlets scattered around the coach. It goes down the highway at 65 without any complaints or drama. It seems to have plenty of power. I paid $14,300 for it with 51k miles.

We are keeping out TT to use on a seasonal site this summer. We will see if we decide to sell it.

When you go to wash the outside of the rv if you use a powerwasher use with care as some folks have caused more problems that way. When I wash mine I use a Blue Coral car wash soap and also a product found @ the Dollar Tree called Awsome it really does the trick on cleaning. My wife said I am bit anal when it comes to keeping my rv clean.

Congrats on the "new" MH. It sounds like you're a "do-it-yourself" kinda guy - which is very good when you're RV'ing. All things considered - it's sounds like you got a sweet deal! Look closely at the tires. They may look new, and don't have a lot of miles, but if the RV did a lot of sitting - which it sounds like it did - you may have tire rot. Looks can be deceiving and it's better to be safe than sorry.

I think Camping World carries a product for the mildew on the awnings. It's a spray on/leave on/rinse off product. And the O.P. was spot on in warning about using a pressure washer to clean the RV. Water can force its' way in behind the slides and then you have real problems.

Oh yeah....:welcome: to the camping board!! :disrocks:
