<font color="blue">Your total clipart may not excede 400 pixels in any direction, an example of which is posted below.
ALL of your clipart, tables, smilies etc. must fit inside this square. If you traced this on to a sheet of paper, you should be able to cover it all.
Clipart may not exceed a total size of 35,000 bytes (35k)</font>

<font color="red">You may have up to 8 lines of text in your signature</font>

<font color="blue">There is a limit of 2 countdown timers</font>

<font color="red">Links that lead to other sites must follow the rules stated in The DIS posting guidelines </font>

<font color="blue">The DIS reserves the right to remove any clipart, even if it meets these standards, that causes technical problems with the boards as well as any HTML, VB or JS code in the post that causes issues.</font>

<font color="red">We are currently allowing the following exceptions:

Examples for clarification:

Your total clipart may not excede 400 pixels in any direction.

For PC users with Internet Explorer: If you "right click" on the above image and then choose "Properties", you will see a window that looks something like this:
eg6.gif

These figures tell you both the byte size of the image as well as the dimensions in pixels. The sum of all of your clipart within the 400 x 400 allotted square can not be higher than 35,000 bytes.

The total height or width cannot exceed 400 pixels in either direction

Example:

If you have 1 image that is 300 pixels x 200 pixels and another that is 200 x 250, it is not possible to get them to fit together within the 400 x 400 allotted square.

You will either need to select a different image, or resize one (or both) of them to fit into the square properly.

As long as you remain within BOTH aspects of the guideline, you may place multiple images into the square. Just don't forget to add up all of them when calculating your total byte size.

Example:

Directly below are 4 images that have been arranged to fit into the 400 x 400 square. The sum of their byte size is 26,389, which is well within the 35,000 guideline.

<img src="http://66.199.150.9/images/eg3.gif"><img src="http://66.199.150.9/images/eg4.gif">

You will have one week to bring your clipart into compliance. If you have any questions or need help please visit our Tech Support Board

yeah Kim...Do YOU understand all that? I don't , except....that's alot of clipart in that one square! I think I have a bit more room to use.

LOL.....I didn't realize it would come up like that!! :teeth:

It's not really my post, it's Alex's, and it's all GEEK to me!! ;) :)

LOL! I suspect Alex would say after looking at your reply.....

It's all CHEEK to me!

Did anyone else get the dreaded red X's????

Clarification please - Clipart is the signature stuff, right? When we post pictures, as we occasionally do, do these guidelines apply??

(Umm.... I probably should also confess that I didn't really read much of what was posted here. Just sort of skimmed it. Computer running real slow and I gotta run out and I'm trying to do too many things at same time....you guys understand. Maybe it will all make sense after 9 p.m. tonight!)

After I posted my post, all those cute pictures and colorful pictures of Mickey showed up. I will have to investigate this further upon my return. Looks very interesting....

....and you will return I hope, Tulirose! :teeth:

Pictures that we post wouldn't be included in the clipart guidelines, Tuli. :)

Well, I finally returned and read the official instructions. Looks like it don't apply to me or many of us, 'smatter of fact. I can even add three more lines to my signature! ;)
