New Character Help

So, I went to WDW recently (and yes, it was amazing ) and made another character to get the coveted Black Mickey Ears. Well, i made my character and got nothing. Will i get the stuff when my name is approved or what? Please Help!

Unfortunately you don't get anything extra anymore when you create a character at the park. Just the clothes you have on and the 1 room you picked. I recently verified this at DLR too. Sorry

I had a friend with me the other day that created a character and they didn't get the ears so I asked an innoventions supervisor about it and he said that VMK has discontinued the starter pack that you received when you create a new in park character. He did not have any info as to why but now when you make a new in park character the only thing you get is 1 room, and the born in park button and you start with 0 credits. I can imagine there will be alot of disappointed people who visit the parks this summer and want to be able to get the black ears for their character.
If they are trying to crack down on clones I am sure there is a better way to solve the problem. I always thought it would be a good idea for vmk to have an inpark virtual store that could only be accessed from the park, and then you could buy the ears or other special park only items. Or even maybe a code for the ears that you have to use your ticket to get the code and they could limit it to one code per ticket which I am sure they could do. The second might be a better idea for new users as they no longer give credits with a new account. I am sure there are alot of things they could do to get the point across without punishing the new users.

Totally agree with you! I don't understand vmk and what they are doing? I personally think it is bad marketing on their (Disney) part??? Someone didn't have their thiknign cap on when they decided to stop extra's for the new characters. People come to the park to get the things you could only get in the park? And so now once the word gets oout..there won't be a big reason to have to go...So that means less people to buy thinkgs???

virak store...humm that sounds pretty cool.. That way people could get the thhings they want..and yet Disney could make even more money!

I am very glad to report that midday on Monday 4/16, the character I finished creating at WDW VMK Central got all the normal extra stuff a Born In Park character gets (4 extra rooms, 200 credits, turnstile, pin, black ears, and extra clothes).
