Well we have officially started our Change Jar for Disney again! :) Since we got about 10 buckets of popcorn during our visit to the World, we cut a slit in the top of one and are beginning to fill it! The kids love the idea that the Disney $$ is being saved in the Disney bucket! Whatever works!! :cheer2:

We save our change in our Disney Cotton Candy plastic container! It is a bit smaller than the bucket from the popcorn but we get to empty it and count it that much sooner.

We save our change in a Disney Change sorter that my mom bought my DD for Christmas. I think she got it from one of those school fundraising booklets. It has Mickey on the quarter container, Minnie on the nickel container, Donald on the penny container and Daisy on the dime container. It is a perfect way to save our coins for WDW!

We put our change in the kids' Disney banks-everytime they want to save for something special, I wrap empty kleenex boxes with white paper and they decorate them. Then I empty my purse every night to fill them before our trip. It does add up quick! :teacher:

We use a Disney coffee can to save our change in. I'm amazed how fast it adds up when I only pay with bills. :earsboy:

I got a cute little tin bank at Ben Franklin store and it has mickey and minnie talking there money to the bank on it and mickey say's something about saving on it......then in the basement by the laundry i have a disney decorated coffee can to collect what i find in the laundry! happy saving :wizard:

We are using the ice cream plastic containers. The ones that have the handle and the lid. The kids decorated it with Nemo and Mickey stickers. :mickeybar

We've been using the Disney juice containers, but I love your idea!! Don't guess I'll be making anymore iced tea in my popcorn buckets!

I have a Tigger bank that my husband bought me years ago. Whatever is leftover on Friday from everyone's "allowance" goes to feed the Tigger. You really can save some decent money that way!

We just have a huge glass container that we got from an auction last summer...

BUT, since we're on the free dining plan in October, I think it will be great time to collect some popcorn containers LOL :cool1:

DH and I got one of the 5 gallon water jugs, and when that's half full, we have enough for a week's vacation. You'd be suprised how fast it builds up (and how heavy it is to bring to the bank :) )

I use those yellow plastic containers of Nesquik powder. Thanks to your ideas I think I'll have my DD decorate it Disney style!!

I know it seems silly to spend money to save money, but we bought a change jar at Marshall's for $7.99. What this jar does is it counts your change as you put it in so you know how much is in the jar. It holds about $100. so far in 3 months we have saved $300. It is really addictive to try to get more change in the jar and see the $ amount rise. We should have $400 when we go to WDW next month.

Ours is a huge plastic pretzel barrel. We've been working on it since Easter (last time we emptied it). It's getting heavy! We have until Sept. 27 to fill it and then back to WDW!

I'm using a big tall Atkins shake mix (oh well, it was a phase) can. I dumped it out and counted the other night after the kids went to bed and there was over $250!!!!

It really helps that here in Canada we are using the $1 and $2 coins! It adds up soooo fast.

Right now I have a full Donald Duck bank (dimes), a full purple Easter Bunny (nickels and dimes), an almost full generic Lion King bank (pennies), almost full white Easter Bunny (nickels and dimes) and a 3/4 of the way full plastic Coke Bottle (quarters and a few dollar coins/bills). When the nearly full ones are full I'm going to poke around in the attic for a couple more banks that the kids had. I think we still have a Lion King and Thomas the Tank Engine up there. I'm just itching to count the quarters. :Pinkbounc

We have a mason jar that's covered with all types of Disney stickers! :cool1:
No pennies allowed!! :flower:

I use a big old fashioned sweet jar from a couple of christmasses ago. Like the Canadian poster said, having £1 and £2 coins adds up quick if you can part with them!

We just spent our change jar for a 4-day, 3 night visit to St. Augustine a few weeks ago, but we (of course!) have restarted our savings. Our change jars are nothing fancy--just 2 old pitchers we bought at a yard sale. One holds pennies, the other holds everything else, INCLUDING occasional 20 dollar bills here and there! Just think, if you put a $20 bill in once a week or so, what a big BOOST it would be to your savings!! :flower:
