new card holder; very confused

I just got a Disney Visa, but am very confused on what I can use Rewards (after I earn them) for. I know on the website it says you can use them to purchase park tickets, but what about buying a Magic Your Way package? Can you use it to pay for your room to stay at? On the web, it says you can use it for "room charges", but I didn't know if that meant stuff like room svc, phone charges, etc., or for the actual cost of the room? Could I use it to pay for a room separately, or towards a MYW package? I see there are not many restaurants included on the list of where to use them. Can I use rewards to purchase a Disney gift card, which would increase the places I could use them? How long do I have once I earn the Reward dollars before they expire (like, how many years)? I know I have a lot of questions, but I am just very confused and don't want to use this card, if it won't really help pay towards a trip. Thanks in advance!

I will tell you what we have personally done with ours. We took it to WDW and we bought stuff at Disney stores, restaurants and the resort.
I am planning on using ours at our next trip to pay for DDP at a DVC resort. You really can use it for about anything owned by Disney in Disney. You can also buy merchandise off of Disneyshopping.com, including gift cards.

Can you use your rewards dollars to buy Disney Dollars ?,or just gift cards.

Technically you are not suppsed to be able to buy Disney Dollars as when you use them at Disney you get cash back. But you can get Disney Gift cards as they don't give cash back, the money stays on the card until used. BUT I have heard some people have been able to go to Disney Store and get Disney Dollars. It may be a employee that just does not know or care. But no, just disney gift cards.

You can use them to pay for tickets, MYW pkgs, room reservations, food, merch, anything you charge to your room (whether at the hotel or in the parks), basically everything. DDRD can be used in all the same places as the Disney gift card. Also, the lists of locations that you find on the website or in the brochure is only a list of examples, you can use it at dining locations all over the parks, the hotels and almost all at DTD.
