This is my first post here.

Can't wait to talk to all the other Canadian's about our passion/obsession with Disney.

Bit about myself.

I'm Karen, my husband is Patrick and our 17 month old daughter is Cassandra.

Patrick and I have visited Disney ohhhh about 2 dozen times now and have already taken Cassandra on her first trip when she was 7 months old.princess:

We are hoping to get back next April but in the mean time we read Trip Reports, view other's pictures, plan our next vacation and dream.

Karen.

Hey Karen, you're in the right place eh.

With that many trips to Disney can I assume that your an AP holder and DVC member?

You might want to consider a trip during Mousefest. That's a gathering of thousands of fanatics who are members of communities like this one. Many Canadians attended last years and several have signed up for this year's too.

Heck, check my upcoming dates and maybe we can arrange a mini meet.

Hi Daddio,

Actually no - we're not AP holders or DV members. we wish.

My husband went every January to run the maration then after we met we travelled together.

got married in 2004 missed 2005
had our daughter in october 2005 and went back in 2006
now we're going to miss 2007 but really really hope to get back for April 2008

i've love to be able to go every year for a few weeks - that's what we were hoping for but it's just not working out that way. :(

We can't figure out if being a DV member is worth the 15000US initial fee right now.

what's mousefest? i've never heard of it.

I've been a visitor of the mouse since the late '80's and bought DVC in 2000, and I wish that I had done it when I first started going. If I did it would have been cheaper!!! Currently the US rate is running around 20% and may go down as we approach the summer, similar to last year. If you have any plastic with air miles you may look at that, then when the bill comes transfer to a line of credit or loan which will be lower than the Disney or credit card rate.

Do a quick calculation if you go down for 10 days a year in one of the villas at $500 plus a night thats $5000, so 3 years you have your investment back less the annual fees!!

Check out DVC on these boards for more ideas.

Welcome to the Dis!!

We bought DVC in 2004 and are lovin it! Best purchase we made!!

Have you thought of going to the timesharestore and looking at getting in with a smaller point contract resale to start you off? You could always add on as time goes on but it would get your 'foot in the door' so to speak!!
