I think you mean Canon is introducing the G9 which is going to replace the G7 when it is released in October.

The specs on this camera do look interesting. I am seriously considering picking one up for my wife for when a DSLR is just too bulky. I like the ability to shoot in RAW format and it is one of the few point and shoot cameras that have a 16x9 format as well as a 4x3.
