New Canadian Ticket Offer *CONFIRMED*

Unfortunately, I think that was always a given. My guess is that the only reason the last offer was non-expiring was that it started before WDW introduced ticket expiry dates in general, and then they probably just didn't want to create a second category of "Canadian Resident tickets" under the same promotion. Too confusing. So both the price and the terms stayed the same, for as long as the promotion lasted. I don't expect to see non-expiring tickets again in the foreseeable future.

I figured they’d be expiring tickets but one can always hope...I may still have DH convinced to let me buy some anyway and take a 2018 trip!
I’m wondering with SW land opening if this might be the last discounted ticket we see for awhile too?

I've been expecting this discount for quite a while now (I was expecting it beginning of September...so I was a little off on my timing). I am NOT expecting a discount next year. The only thing I can foresee is that they may discount the first half of the year (before SWL opens). But it would be madness to offer discounted tickets once SWL officially opens. As it is it will likely be insanity in each of the parks for summer/2019.

Two potential problems:

1. I haven't run the numbers, but the 4-day Cdn Resident ticket is probably cheaper than the 2-day you bought. Disney is happy to let you *add* to your tickets and pay the difference, but they don't do refunds. They might let you have the extra days, but you probably won't get the difference back.
2. You'd have to be at WDW in person while the promotion is running (ie. before mid February) to make the changes.

If your trip is after February but before December 2018, and *if* you're okay with tying up the cash, maybe you could buy Cdn. 4-day tickets for your planned trip and save the regular 2-day tickets for another trip? The regular tickets will expire, but will retain the value you paid for them. Or you can call and ask. WDW doesn't usually do upgrades over the phone, but there's no harm in trying.

My 2 day tickets were $200 so I would be spending an extra $70 to upgrade to the 4 day. And I’d be in their parks 2 more days than at universal studios so I’d think they would rather I spend more time with them. We are going Dec 30

The only issue is booking fast passes for the other 2 days if you will be upgrading at WDW. Hope there is a way to go around this!

Where did you buy the 2 day tickets? If from the WDW website I’d probably call to ask if you can adjust the tickets... it can’t hurt!

Guest services guy at Disney Springs said you could not upgrade to a parkhopper at the special price and you never had been able to even during the last Canadian Special. Obviously he doesn't know what he is talking about so we will try at Epcot Guest Services tomorrow.

If you're going to be there during the promotion, I think you should be fine.

That said, I did run the numbers this time, and I think you're a little off?

Adult 2-day (no hoppers): $211.94 (includes tax)
Adult Canadian Resident 4-day (no hoppers): $298.20

So a difference of about $86. I don't think you'll have any problem doing this though; upgrades are allowed, including upgrades to a discounted ticket, as long as the ticket you are upgrading to is a higher cost than the ticket you have. If you run into trouble, find another ticket agent and try again. Good luck!

I think she bought Disneyland tickets, not WDW tickets...

For DLR, the promotion is 25% on 3-days and over. Higher % and less days for minimum.

I bought them direct from the Disney World site for WDW and they were 217 with tax each approx

I have a 14 day trip booked under a Magic Your Way package currently. I intend to get in on free dining if possible when it is offered come April. Is it possible to have the Canadian discounted ticket price added into FD offers or MYW? Or is it just when buying tickets only?

According to the fine print, first use of these current discounted tickets must be on or before December 31st, 2018. So I don't think they can be used for your 2019 trip?
