New bus line etiquette with ECV?

Is there an article explaining a new set of rules for boarding buses at WDW?

If I'm reading posts correctly, then 2 things have changed:
1 - ECV/Wheelchairs wait in the regular bus lines
2 - New spaces & tie-downs for ECVs & Wheelchairs

Help - I am computer "not-smart", and I don't know how to find this info. (I just spent over 30 minutes searching!)

I don't want to make a fool out of myself in April with my lack of knowledge.
Help - please! Thank you!!! :goodvibes

If there's an article, I haven't seen it. I have seen several threads that refer to this, most of the postings being complaints about wheelchair and ECV users having to wait to board, sometimes waiting for multiple buses. I have to imagine this has a particular impact at park closing; I would hate to not be able to stay for fireworks because of a new policy.

Netiquette -- It is okay to go ahead and post if you don't find your answer quickly using search. However difficult questions might take awhile to gather answers.

I haven't examined all of the bus line layouts but there are some stops where wheelchair guests wait in the same line as others. If there is a separate line for wheelchair guests, there will be a path just along the curb (passing where the rear door of the bus ends up.)

I'm not aware of any change either. I was just there on 1/4 and the busses loaded the same as always.

Kathy sounds like she's on the case. I guess we wait and see.

FWIW, all the bus queues at the parks have a designated wheelie area. Just look for the sign.

What we did was I and my dad would park our wheels where we could be seen and our family waited in the queue. We all got on the same bus. Dad and I were just loaded first and then the bus driver opened the front doors. No one was left in the cold.

Mind you, we try to avoid hopping a bus right at park closing. Those busses are usually jammed, standing-room only so you get lots of people standing around you. Even in the busiest time of year we dealt with busses maybe half or 3/4 full at best.

We were there in Dec with my mom in an ECV and that's what we did. The rest of us waited in the regular line and just my parents were in the wheelechair line.

It was my first trip ever dealing with an ECV (my mom needs a knee replacement) and they never had any issues. It was a little busy first thing in the morning but other than that we usually had the busses to ourselves. (We usually avoid the rush at park closing as well)

Thanks so much for your replies. I'll be sure to read any & all signs for bus loading.

Knowledge is a good thing - being forewarned surely helps a lot. :goodvibes

We returned Sunday and did not see anything about changes to loading. We waited to the side and were loaded first each and evey time. We did run into a few buses with 2 ECV's already loaded and had to wait - but that is understandable.
