new "boys" character meal at MGM

Felicia,

I think you may be referring to this meal, from Monday's park update on mouseplanet.com:

Toy Story breakfast to start in April
After running a story last week about the rumored Toy Story character breakfast at the Hollywood & Vine restaurant in the Disney-MGM Studios, we heard from one of the people who auditioned for a role at the venue. Reportedly, the breakfast is definitely a go, with rehearsals starting in March for an April debut of the meal. The breakfast will be run by "Sarge," of Green Army Men fame. This role will be an Actors Equity actor, as opposed to the Teamsters-represented characters normally found in the theme parks. This would seem to indicate a much higher amount of interactivity, requiring similar skills and representation to streetmosphere characters and other improvisational roles.

Why do you suppose they don't have more character lunches? Why breakfast again?

Do they have info on if it is 1 ts for dining plan users?? I sure this will book fast i am going to keep a watch on this one for ds :thumbsup2

The info posted above is the whole article. No info on pricing or anything else. I would imagine it will be 1 credit, simply because all the other character meals (except CRT) are 1 credit and dinner at H&V is one credit.

Thanks for posting that info., Bob P! Sounds very interesting. We were going to skip MGM this next trip, but if they do start this, I want to give it a try! :)

Bob thanks for the "scoop", we head back next March and my son would love this, he'll be 8 then but I still think he'll think it rocks!! He love Disney just as much as his Mama :yay:

WOW !!
How can we find out more information about this and details??
I hope it is an absolute sure thing! :yay:

You'll just have to be patient, I guess! What I posted above is all that is known as of now.

Bob

Thanks for replying....you're right, time will tell. We are going in November so I hope this will be there !!
Keep Us DIS'ers Posted if you hear any more ! :thumbsup2

This would be very cool. I bet there are a bunch of boys (and girls) who would love to have a meal with these characters.

I Have 2 DD's ages 4 and 7 and 2 Nephews ages 8 and 10.....I mentioned it and they are all thrilled !!! My 4 year old DD has her entire bed decked out in Buzz, Woody & Jessie stuff....She is actually in her Buzz Lightyear Jammies tonite!!!
This is wonderful news !! pixiedust: :dog2:

I'll probably get flamed from all the parents of girls, but here it goes anyway.

Just like some boys like the "Princess" character meals many girls will also enjoy the "Boys" Toy Story Character meal.

Those of us with only boys are thrilled because it seems Disney caters very heavily towards girls & princesses.

In defense of those of us who have boys, how many girls clothes or accessories feature Buzz, Woody or Sarge? How many boys clothing or accessories feature princesses? This is why I think it is described as a boys meal.

I am not trying to start a debate, but for Disney to cater more towards boys would be awesome. just my .02

Me too!! I can start making my ressies in 2 weeks and would LOVE this for my boys 6 and 9. I agree with the posters who feel the Princesses are way over-promoted!! Boys need a little something too. Now I know there are alot of little girls who love Toy Story also. Heck I my own little crush on Woody!! But I don't know of too many boys over 3 who are really into the Princesses..unless you count My hubby who would love to dine with the young lady in the Jasmine costume!!! ;)

We miss the former character breakfast at H&V so this is great news. I think Studios desperately needs a character meal!

I can't wait for this - the Mother's Day brunch last year had boy "heroes" and it was great...DS really enjoyed seeing the "guy characters"...

And other than the Power Rangers  he loves Buzz!
