For quite some time now, Disney Parks fans have been discussing the possibility of purchasing FastPasses to attractions and entertainment experiences. Rumors have circulated for years that this would be the next direction Disney would go in whether it be done directly by buying an allotment of passes or indirectly based on the hotel tier a guest reserves accommodations at. Now that FastPass+ has come to fruition, the conversation has died down…that is, until today, and I was immediately sucked in.

I just read the article and no I wouldn't. I understand they are a business and here to make money like every other company, but Disney is getting greedy in trying to pay for this failed system.

Not this version of it. If they told me that for $20/MB ($100 for my party) we could increase to 5 selections per day over multiple parks and eliminate tiering, I'd jump all over it.

I personally don't think they will do a paid fastpass system anytime soon , if ever. I think they make more money buying doing these premium pacakges and such.

I know if they ever did, I myself and many others I know would never pay for it.

I read it too, but since this is part of a tour I do not see it the same way. Since some time is spent doing the tour they are essentially providing those FP to make up for ride time lost. Though I do feel if someone chooses a tour they know they would have less ride time. Still to me I do not feel the same way the writer did. It is not paying for FP but for tour (great deal though). I would hope Disney never charges for FP only.

Wow...that is crazy cheap. I wish they'd offer something like that at WDW. They never will and if they did it would be a lot more. I don't think it is greedy. We paid for the system for our upcoming trip at dollywood to bypass lines and if need be will at six flags. Even though we stay off site in a house we still will stay a night deluxe at universal to get their passes. There is a huge market for this service. It would be bad business not to.

I'm not so sure we aren't are already paying for it through park ticket increases over the last few years.

It's reminiscent of the days when you paid admission and then paid for the tiered tickets to ride the rides. If your parents could afford tickets for all the top tiered rides, that was fantastic. Then there were the families that couldn't afford that. It's just in a different form. ;)

I would never pay for FP+s. Although, given that onsite guests already have an advantage over off site guests in being able to book their FPs a month earlier by paying exhorbitant room rates at the resorts, one could argue that we're already paying for them. :confused3 Just one way to look at it.

I would buy fastpasses! I would absolutely do so. Every other theme park I have ever been to, including Universal, has a pay system for bonuses or preferred ride waits. Its fairly basic. I would jump on it. Of course the price would matter, but if it was $25 for 5 FPs, I would do it in a second. I would rather just pay a set price, like $50 per day, and get unlimited FP for any ride.

I think whatever price Disney would charge (wasn't 14.99 out there as a rumor a while back?) would be steep for most.

If they are selling ten rides in the new VIP tours for $299...yikes! (I know it includes lunch but even subtract that out, still yikes!)

I would not.....we go for 2 weeks at a time. That would be crazy.

Most non-Disney parks I've gone to have some sort of "pay this amount and your line is shorter" passes. It would not shock or offend me if Disney did it. Would I pay $20 to have a shorter line? Maybe. If I go in a busy time, it would be ok. But I typically don't mind waiting 1 hour or less for a ride, and I usually go during "quiet" months... So I don't think it's something I would get.

But at DLR, you don't need them as much. Fastpasses that is...just was there last week and nearly everything but Space Mountain and Radiator Springs Racers were under 20 minutes.

I would without hesitation pay more for additional FP+.

We only go to Disney every few years (2013, 2015, 2018) and anything to make waiting in line go away would be worth it. We went in Oct and any line over 20min got skipped. Granted, the future trips won't be with two 2yos and a 3yo, but still.

I don't know how much I would pay. If I could pay $14.99 a day for 5+ additional fast passes, I would do it in an instant. More than that, I would stop and think.

No, I would not pay for FP+. For me, there would be no point. I get all that I need when I book a package, and if I want more, then I pay more - in this case that $ would go toward a ressie at CRT or something else that was somewhat harder to come by, not a FP when I already get them with my package.

Snap. NO way am I paying for fast passes :)

It would all be about supply and demand and if it really was worth it.

I could pay the $25 for 5 FP+ instead of 3 FP+ in September and might not even use 2 the whole day because the parks so dead.

I could pay the $25 in December and because everyone else buys the extra FP+ I could still end up in a 30+ min wait.

They could limit the number of people who could order this package and during the busy times when you need it, it could go faster than Anna and Elsa FP+.

They could crank the price up to $50-100 per FP+ or $300 unlimited FP+ and likely it would be out the window due to cost.

In the end to many what ifs as there is no way to know if it really would be worth it. Their better bet is to sell 1 or 2 extra FP+ as apart of these premium bundles where most people are more interested in the package and the extra FP+s help makeup for lost time in the park.

PS - The reason those preferred passes and waits work at other parks is because people go to those parks for 1/2/3/4 days at a time. I know quite a few people who go to WDW for a week plus each time they go. Every person I know who has went to Disney in the last 2 years from work and elsewhere have went to Disney at least 7+ days for their visit. (I am from Wisconsin so a little pricer $ and/or time to get there and part of the reason)
