Happy sunny days :) finally after yucky winter, it seems summer is here....with that brings the urge to GRILL  I Love BBQ'd food..... We bought a new house in 2007, and Finally after 5 yrs got a deck put on last September....DH hates to BBQ, so we've lived without a grill for 6yrs!! FINALLY I've had enough and went to Home Depot to purchase a new BBQ over Mother's Day weekend...my hubby's gift to me :)
I really loved the look of the Weber Genesis E320....but  they are pricey ($749) I ended up settling on a Broil Mate for $500......I should have known better! less than 2 weeks owning it and I HATE it....it heats up inconsistently, my rotisserie burner died after half of a use, the burners don't ignite anymore with the switch....all in all, it's a total PITA...... I have compromised before trying to save a few bucks, and it never turns out well....I should have just stuck to my gut instinct and gotten the Weber I wanted, all I hear about that grill is rave reviews. I contacted Home Depot and let my amazing salesperson know my unhappiness....He was WONDERFUL! He said no worries, I can exchange it for the Weber I origianally wanted, and for him talking me into a sub-par bbq, he was going to take off an additional $50 :) He is so sweet and the best salesperson I have ever had the pleasure of being served by.....
SO!!! moral of my story, never compromise, sometimes the "cheap" ends up expensive.....or rather where you thought you where going to save money, that is not always the case if you end up with a product you hate/// that is sub-par// or you'll have to replace quickly!
Do You have a Weber?
Help me feel good about my new purchase.....Will I LOVE my weber?? If you have one, WHY do you love it??
:)

I'm actually getting ready to purchase the genesis e-330. Our current grill, a weber, is ready to retire after 18 YEARS in the workforce:lmao:
I bought a one month online subscription to consumer reports and the Webers are at the top of the list for all their categories.
You did good getting a Weber:thumbsup2

Your gut is correct! Weber is the way to go!

Also own a Weber...don't know the model, but we love it!! It's several years old, always reliable and looks good in stainless steel. I love to BBQ and as soon as the weather is warm do most of my cooking on it!!

Weber is awesome. Get the three burner one. I have the non stainles sone and it was under $400.00

Yes, Weber is the way to go. My Weber grill is 22 years old and we are thinking we may need to replace it this year. The only decision is which Weber....

Is your exterior stainless? One of the ones I'm considering is a stainless exterior but I read that once they get hot, it discolors and you cant ever get it off so I was kinda steering away from the stainless exterior:confused3

I don't have a Weber grill, but I do have a stainless propane grill from Costco and it is about 5-6 years old now and the stainless steel has not discolored at all. We do use a canvas cover when it's not in use but as far as the heat discoloring it, we have not had any issues. I believe if the stainless steel is lower quality it will discolor.

We usually buy one of the cheapest grills that are on clearance at the end of the season. Last one we bought is going on 5 years old. We use it year round at least 2-3 times a week. We love to grill.

Its a Thermos brand with 2 burners and we bought it for under $100.

We bought a Weber about 9 years ago. It was called the Genesis silver back then. Not sure what is equals now but after almost a decade and a few fires (i don't know how to cook ribs) it's still going strong. Was thinking it's almost time to get new grill grates but we love ours and actually grill all year round. our neighbors often see me treking through the snow to bring out the grill and grill up some steaks or hamburgers.

I guess its just me...Genesis Silver, covered in that black cover I bought, but left outside
My weber is about 8 years old...
The inside cover paint is chipping off YUCK!
Outside black paint is worn and does not look new at all...
The catch part underneath is literally worn away and has a hole in it.
The flavor bars have rot on almost all of them
The lighter button thing does not work, thus I am using one of those flame things to stick in the hole to start major P A I N !
About three years ago, I called weber, they sent New flavor bars (I think 3) said they should not have rotted thru....

I purchased it after the "latest" news at the time that food drippings had carbon(?) and it was healthier to use a weber regarding potential cancer link?? Who knows...I went for it at the time...

Im not impressed and dont think Id invest in one again..................and I need one VERY soon...like yesterday:eek:

We just bought the Genesis E-310 about 2 weeks ago (Espresso color at Lowe's). Used it about 4 times so far and couldn't be happier! :thumbsup2

Head's up if you're looking for a grill...sign up on-line at Lowe's for their "moving" services e-mails and you'll get a 10% off coupon good on virtually anything in the store. That's what we did and saved enough to pay for the cover.

Two years ago, I did the Lowe's moving coupon. But I wanted the Spirit grill, which is less expensive (LOVE it, btw). At Lowe's it came with these wide enamel grilling surface, but Home Depot has the cast iron grills. Home Depot let me use my Lowe's coupon for 10% off.

So if anyone is looking at the Spirit instead of the Genesis, get it at Home Depot because of the better grills.

Three words - Big Green Egg

I dont think most people know what a green egg is. However, the kamado grills are going mainstream now. I saw a kamado at Costco the other day so everyone will be on that bandwagon soon.

I've tried to go non-Weber for years due to prices, but after my 4th grill, I went Weber and love it.

I want one! Just heard about them last week. It is on my wish list. Off to Costco.com to see now!

I could have written this post, including the fire part
I just cleaned out my grill today and replaced the flavorizer bars. It doesn't look brand new but it looks pretty close. If this one ever dies, we'll replace it with another Weber :thumbsup2

For all of you Weber lovers out there, anyone try the Q? We switched to one a few years ago.
Love that little bugger! I use about 1/3 the propane that I used to use on the old, huge one. It is just cooking for 2, so it works for us.
