new at booking AP rates

I have booked AKL savannah view with an AP rate of $200 from June 30- July 10. I know that the AP rate that begins July 5th may be less since that begins value season for deluxes. If this happens, will I be able to call and get the lower rate for the 5th-9th? I thought I had read somewhere that you have to have 2 separate reservations to do this. At the time, I didn't pay much attention because I didn't think I'd ever talk dh into buying APs. If anyone has split their reservations, or can give me information, I'd appreciate it.

Yes, you'll need two separate reservations to get the lower rate from July 5 - 10. You'll also have to let CRO to "link" the reservations. There also is a "slight" chance that you'll have to change rooms. Most likely, all you'll have to do is come down in the morning, check-out and re-check back in. Have the reservations linked and when you check-in for the first one, mention the linked ressies and that you don't want to vacate rooms. They'll do their best to accomdate you. You'll also have to pay an additional deposit upon booking the second ressie. you'll also have to ammend your first ressie to cancel out those nights you've booked on the second ressie.
