New APs: does "PP Downloads included" = Memory Maker?

I couldn't find another thread on this, and I'm confused... I don't remember reading about this on Disney's site when new APs were first announced, but now I see that with Platinum Plus Pass, Platinum Pass, and Gold Pass, "Disney's Photopass downloads" are included.

Sounds like this would make buying Memory Maker unnecessary, but I want to be sure... And of course, they don't just state that plainly (that this replaces that).

Does anyone know for sure if this means that I get everything I'm accustomed to with Memory Maker if I buy a Platinum Pass, for instance?

Fine print online is: "*Disney PhotoPass® benefit for Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus Annual Pass and Premier Annual Passport includes Disney PhotoPass® photos and other digital content linked to the guest’s Disney account and captured while the annual pass is valid for admission to a Disney Parks theme park. A MagicBand is required to receive certain attraction photos and other digital content. Photos and other digital content linked to a Disney account with a Disney PhotoPass® benefit for qualifying Annual Pass holders will expire 365 days from the date of capture. This Disney PhotoPass® benefit is subject to terms and restrictions and also to the Family & Friends terms and restrictions. Not responsible for missing, lost or damaged photos. Online registration required. Downloads are restricted to personal use by passholder only. Subject to change without notice."

Yes, it's essentially the same as purchasing Memory Maker. You'll be able to do everything you're used to being able to do with that.

Awesome -- thanks!! I don't know how I missed this until now! Saw it in the "Mickey Monitor" magazine I received yesterday.

Makes a price increase a tad easier to take... but I only needed one MM per family... The price increase is on every pass. :-/

As long as someone is linked to the AP holder's MDE account, will the AP holder have access to those photos, even if the AP holder is not on the ride or is not the one who scanned their band? How does that work if someone take a trip later in the year without the AP holder?

"The AP Guest will have the ability to download any photos and other digital content shared by members of the AP Guest’s Family & Friend list. Photo sharing rules are subject to the Family & Friends terms found at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-experience-terms-and-conditions."

Another question... What if all 5 of us have Platinum Passes... Will I be able to see and download pics from our entire group (assuming their MDE profiles are linked to mine), or will I need access to THEIR MDE ACCOUNTS to get pics of rides, let's say, when I wasn't accompanying them?

It's just like it says in what jon18uk quoted - you'll be able to download any pictures taken by anyone on your Friends and Family list.

I used it last week at the parks. All the pictures that my daughters took with a photo pass photographer or on a ride showed up in mde account within minutes of it happening, I could keep tabs on them that way . I was also able to do borders & stuff once I got home.
