New AP perk - Disney Dining Experience

I'll be calling this morning & crossing my fingers that it arrives before we leave on the 21st! Thanks again! :D
It will not arrive prior to your trip, they have a backlog and are quoting 4 to 6 weeks. Tell them you are going to WDW soon and they will email or fax a confirmation to you to use at the parks.

I have a few questions for those who currently have a DDE.

1) Do they add your tip to the bill? I ask this because I am a former CM and when getting our 20% off at resturants they would include a 15% tip on the bill sometimes I would forget and the CM would get a great tip.

2) Can you use the DDE on the fantasmic dinner packages. We were not allowed to use our CM id for the fantasmic dinner packages.

This looks to be much better than a CM id, there are a lot of places such as Beaches and Crem and Cinderllas Royal Table for the character breakfast where we could not use our CM id to get 20% off and it seems as if the DDE card does work there!

They are busy! It took forever to get thru w/o a busy signal and I've now been on hold for awhile...

I've been on hold for what seems like forever. :(

I just got through on the number given earlier, but it says you have to be a Florida resident. Can anyone get it now, or is it still for Florida residents? Is there a different number to call? I tried going to the Disney Website, but for some reason I am having trouble accessing it. Any help would be appreicated.

Thanks,

Cindy

Hi Cindy:

I called last night and ordered mine. Ignore the message, they haven't changed the voice mail message yet

EmptyNester,

Thanks, I'm on hold right now. :D

The automated phone message has not yet been changed from FL resident. That is the correct number.

Chuck S. - thanks for the info - that's exactly what I'll have to do! :D

I believe I read that you can get 2 cards with your membership - does anyone know if you can get cards with different last names?

Will this DDE card differ at all from the one given to those with a FL AP? In other words, if I can get 2 cards for my family & half of us have regular AP's & the other half have FL AP's would this work out?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance! :D

I don't know if the AP cards "look" or are encoded the same as the FL resident cards. But, both cards must be for adults in the same household, so your FL familiy member would need to get their own set of cards.

Can anyone tell me how long they were on hold before they answered?...it's been over 30 minutes so far. :(

Not to open another can of worms, but they don't limit the number of memberships they sell do they? My next trip is in June and I have another planned for October. I want to wait to get the max amount of days, but if they only sell a certain number of memberships, I will call now.

zulaya, the other thing I am worried about is a price increase. Also, what if I forget to order it in time? I hate to order the thing now, since my trip is not until April, but I keep wondering these questions as well.

Dh and I saved over $250 on food with DDE on our last trip. I did not know it is open to AP's now, (we got when it was only available to FL res) I am excited to see this as we will be moving away to Alabama next month

We even used it for CRT! The only times we were not able to use it was counter service and Fantasmic Dinner packages.

This card is the deal of a lifetime, easily pays for itself in 2 days of eating...it did for us anyway. we got our money back in one dinner at V & A!!

oh! almost forgot, we had DDE email us with a letter stating we were able to get discount without cards...she said to just show letter to server. Well that trip was cancelled due to Ivan so I am not sure if that would have worked, but they seemed like they do that all the time! happy eating to everyone!

Just got off. I was on hold for exactly one hour.
Charge is exactly $50.

I was told they expire on 1/31/06 and if your AP expires before that you can still use the DDE card.

I was on hold for exactly 45 minutes but got it...$50. I didn't ask a lot of questions but she did say there would be a dining list included when I receved the card and that there are black-out dates for major U.S. holidays.

So, you only have to have an AP to purchase the DDE membership but not to use it??? What if you aren't planning on purchasing your AP until you arrive so you don't have it when you need to purchase the DDE membership? How do you get both an AP and a DDE and maximize them both?

Does anyone know if Wine or "Adult Beverages" are included in the discount?
