I just called an CM today to ask them some questions. They told me not to get my Annual Passes until April-Mid April. They are coming out with new ones. Ninny me said okay, and hung up. New Passes, what does that mean. I thought these passes were sold all the time, not specific times. Has anyone else heard about this? :crazy2:

Also, were would be the best place to get them? I'd rather not have to deal with a voucher if I don't have to. Also, can you get a discount on these or are the priced as is?

Thanks!

OOOh yes this intrigues me... must know about new ap passes! :teeth:

Maybe she meant the designs will change for the 50th anniversary celebration!

The ticket distributing machines at WDW don't print hard plastic tickets, so that isn't the change (the Anheiser Busch parks now use the Tyvek ticket system as well, so it is only a matter of time before Universal likely will as well). There are no discounts on Annual Passes unless you are a Florida Resident or a DVC member, and the prices have just recently gone up, so the only thing I can figure it is maybe the picture on the back will be different.

I hope they make them plastic like the US ones. They get awfully shabby.
I live in Florida and use mine many times each month. I have never had by pass begin to look shabby. The tyvek material is very durable and is easier to carry than a stack of plastic.

What did they recently go up to for a FL. Resident? I'm going in two weeks to get a FL. AP and didn't know the APs went up.

I called CRO yesterday and was asking about AP's. I had a very nice CM on the phone and she told me that I would get a voucher in the mail, but I would go to Guest Relations in the parks or DTD to get the actual AP. She said it would be a plastic card with my name and they would take my picture. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about, but that is what she told me!!

Exchanged AP vouchers for passes last month at EPCOT, no photos then. :confused3

Disney used photos on plastic cards in the mid 90's. They are now more advanced than that. The biometric scanners and tyvek tickets are here for good.

Thank you to everyone for responding, so I'll just wait until April. I don't know why Disney makes everything soooooo expensive. People are there 24/7 give us some sort of Break. Like my father says you can't take it with you (money/death).

kwdietrich1 I just noticed are tickers are the same, I mean where going to be in Disney at the same time :wave2: . Where are you planning on staying? I'm having a hard time picking. We definately going deluxe.

The CM could have been confused with DL. DL does still use photos I think. (I know that you can get the same people at CRO)
