Recently purchased a first time AP but never received any type of welcome package. Should we expect anything or nothing until we get to the parks and activate it?

What kind of welcome package were you expecting? We purchased 5 in September and we got our new cards, and that was it.

Following...I have the same question :)

ETA: I didn't get an email but I see the pass in MDE. I have had an AP in the past and I remember I got a magnet but I'm not sure if that was before or after I activated it.

Did not receive a card or anything in the mail. Was expecting at least the card a magnet or at least a welcome letter with explanation of benefits. Perhaps it is all now digital, but wanted to confirm if something simply got lost in the mail.

I've had an AP on and off for about 10 years and just got a new one in Sept. I didn't receive anything but my yellow AP card. Back in the day you would get a new magic band and magnet in the mail but I think they stopped those a few years ago. There also used to be a little passholder "gift" at some of the festivals. Oh, and I think there used to be a little booklet they gave you when you got your new one that listed where you could get discounts.

Ok will ask for the card when we get there and activate. Got to admit somewhat surprised that they send nothing if that is the case. The little things is what keeps people engaged.

No card or magnet. I activated my AP in September. I didn't know I could get a card. Does it say Annual Passholder?

I have 2 AP we bought in the summer sitting in MDE waiting for us to activate next week. We got nothing in the mail...no card, no packet nada. We will go to MK guest services on arrival to activate and get our physical passes.

We’ve had APs for years. Just renewed in May. You will get your card when you activate your passes. You will need to show the card for your AP discounts or to buy AP specific merchandise. I asked about the little booklet over the summer & was told they no longer have them. They have everything on the passholder website & it is easier to keep that updated than to give out booklets with outdated info. The magnets & Mickey Monitor newsletter they used to send were very hit or miss even before the Covid shutdown. Some people got them all the time, some people never did. We used to get them all the time. But we did not get the Orange Bird magnet sent out last year or the new design sent this summer/ fall. We were still able to order a magic band for our APs. That option showed up in MDE after we renewed. But, like the resort bands, they are no longer free. The little AP slider for MBs seems to have gone away too.

But no matter what, everything starts after you activate your pass.

Unlike Disneyland who does get Welcome Packages with goodies ... Disney World gets NOTHING.

When you arrive you will get your hard ticket pass that you need to carry with you for discounts or if MB doesn't work. You should have gotten an email that shows your pass with barcodes that they will scan at the window when you pick up your tickets.

You might get lucky and get a magnet in the mail, our house of multiple APs - get them 50/50. If you are on FB join the Passholders page you might get heads up on offers. Some people get emails of special offers or previews or events ... and some don't. Been this way as long as I've had APs ... since around 2007.

Guest Services should have the AP book with a listing of discounts and perks and whatnot. We got ours when we activated at Disney Springs.
When I was there last, I had to change my gold card to the new 50th anniversary card. Apparently the back of the card lists your expiration date, even if you renew online. The shops (Emporium) are finicky about making sure your AP is current and you aren't using an expired AP just for the merch discount.
I also received an AP magnet in the mail around October. It's the new design.
