Hi, there! I just discovered this website about a week ago when I started watching Dreams Unlimited Travel and DIS Unplugged videos on YouTube. I'm scheduling a trip to Walt Disney World for this September, and I am so excited! I found the videos while looking for reviews and the like.

This is my first sort of... 'on my own' trip. I'm taking my cousin and her daughter (who I call my niece because my cousin and I are pretty much sisters) but this is the first vacation I'm planning and budgeting out myself. The last time I went to WDW, I was a plucky little CP about.... eight years ago or so. Even though I went by myself, I was lucky enough to still have my mom help me make plans and reservations, etc.

This time, I'm on my own-- and I love it! I'll never forget the look on my niece's face when I finally got to tell her! We're going to Luau Cove the first night we're there, we're doing the Chip 'n Dale Character Breakfast at the Garden Grill, and I even managed (after lots of checking) to snag us a reservation for lunch at Be Our Guest. OH, and we'll be going to MNSSHP-- on my birthday! I'm planning on dressing up in an outfit inspired by Ned Land and the crew of the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Any skirt I can decorate with a squid is A-OK by me! (Makes me wish I could make time to go by Trader Sam's to get the Nautilus, but I don't think an eight year-old would appreciate it, heh.)

Sorry for the wall of text, but finally, here's a little bit about me. I've sadly only been to WDW, but I'm super-enthusiastic about all the parks and I would love to visit them all someday-- especially Tokyo DisneySea! I'm kind of a huge nut about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: the rides, the movie, and especially the book. I also adore the Haunted Mansion, Dreamfinder and Figment, Duffy and ShellieMay, and The Three Caballeros!

Whew! Anyway, I'm really excited to be here, and I can't wait to talk about Disney with all of you!

Ah, might as well add a bit of an ice-breaker poll: which of the Haunted Mansion rides is your favorite?

Thanks! I'm ready for the weekend to get here so I can pack! I'm already having a little trouble sleeping because I keep thinking of all the stuff I have to do and I'm so excited :)

I hope you put up a trip report! I'm going to start reading through those today to get hyped up (like I need help with that, ha! :stitch:) I've started having some trouble sleeping due to excitement... and I might or might not have had a few Disney-related dreams already... with 89 days to go! Whoops!

You should definitely go to Trader Sam's! Children are allowed until 8pm. We went with our DD(6) and she enjoyed all the antics. They also have some nice non-alcoholic drinks as well!

Where are you staying?

I want to go, but this is the first time my niece is going to WDW and I'm afraid it'll be difficult to tear her away from the parks... especially since we're only staying technically 4 1/2 days. We are going to Luau Cove, and I think it'd be fun to slip into Trader Sam's afterwards or before (we're going to the 5:15 show) so I'll kind of hint at it and hope they go for it. They will totally judge me if I get the $52 Nautilus, though! HA! "But guuuuuys it'd match my MNSSHP costume!" .... I don't think that'd work very well.

We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside, which is another reason we'll probably only be staying one evening at the Poly-- I want to explore POR, too! It looks so magical, and we've specifically requested Alligator Bayou. My niece is really looking forward to sleeping in the little Murphy bed (she calls it "the box" and we joke about how we're sending her to WDW and she'll sleep in a box when we get there!).
