Hi all I am new to the DIS:yay: (I have been an avid reader but no posts)
and I was hoping for some friendly advice...
We are planning a vacation for Dec 6-14(possibly to the 16th). We are a family of 4- me 35, DH 33, DS 10 and DMom 60. We are celebrating 61st b-day, an 11th b-day a 5th wedding anniversay and a retirement:woohoo: all in that timeframe. we are very excited but also very undecided...
we have been to disney many times but never staying at these resorts. We are stuck at our resort choice and hope that some of you may have some opinions or advice that will help us decide.
first option.. Poly Gardenview
second .......CSR Waterview

We have stayed at the ASRs and at POFQ manytimes and thought we should do something a little bit special for this trip.
We will be doing the deluxe dining plan no matter which resort we stay at.

Welcome :goodvibes
Half the fun for me is planning the trip ,,I'd love to stay at the Poly,,,I'd try an evening wishes cruise. Also look at where you think you'll be spending the most time ,
,DVC resorts (OKW, WLV ,BCV BWV ,and AKV )are also a great idea when traveling with extended family. Have fun planning.
Hugs Mel

Enjoy all the Christmas decorations:santa: ! We just went Dec. 9-13 and love, love loved it! The resorts are all especially beautiful, although the Poly did not have a tree (no room with the waterfall in the lobby) - make sure you visit all the deluxe and DVC resorts to enjoy their huge and gorgeous trees and different decor. The parks have so many special holiday things as well - don't miss the Candlelight Processional and the tree lighting show/ceremony at Epcot, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios, the castle at night at MK, and the Jingle Jungle parade at AK. It's special just being there for the holidays, plus all the occasions you're celebrating - enjoy!!!:woohoo:
As for the resorts, we found CSR to be a lot of walking just to get to a bus or the main lobby - only stayed there once, no more. We're DVC members as well, so we're partial to those resorts.
AKL is beautiful for the holidays and there is lots to do at the resort. Also great bus service as it doesn't share buses with any other (Poly shares with I think three resorts, and CSR has at least 4 or 5 stops within the resort). Whatever you decide, you'll love it this time of year!:santa:
