I have no idea where to start! I am hoping you can help me out. We are heading to FL for the first week of March, my inlaws live in Stuart ( about 2 hours from disney) we plan to drive to their house ( from Pa) and spend a few days with them, we then plan to drive up to disney and spend two days there, my inlaws will join us. My children are 13,12,5 and 2. We want to spend one overnight then head home. my 5 yr old has been promised an appt at bippity boppity boutique.
I have a few questions:
1. do instate residents get better park pass rates ( so should my MIL buy our tickets?/)
2. is is even possible to only stay one night or do ALl hotels /motels in teh area have a 3 night minimum?
3. since we are driving would how cheaply could we do a whole week in disney for the 6 of us if we decided to stay in disney and just have our inlaws come see US instead of spending time with them? I figure we cousl spend about $3000 or $4000 for the whole vacation. will that be enough for 5- 6 days and nights???

thanks sooo much for any info you can provide!

Florida Residents do get a discount on tickets, but it is ONLY for those that live in state. They can not buy FL Resident tix for those that don't live in Fl. You are required to show a valid FL id for each ticket when they are picked up.

You can stay only one night on Disney property. Offsite, all hotels will have different rules. You just have to call and ask.

You will need an appointment at Bibbidy Bobbity so make sure you figure out when you will be there and get your appt made early to get the date and time you want.

To figure out what your costs would be to stay on property go to the disney.com website and go through the process of making a reservation for your family. Because there are 6 of you the cheapest option will be 2 rooms at a Value Resort, or the Family Suites at All Star Music. There are also cabins out at Fort Wilderness if you want to try making some of your own meals to save money. Once you have determined the cost of room and tickets, then you can go to www.allearsnet.com and look through their dining menus to get an idea of your food budget for eating onsite. Disney also has a dining plan you can purchase if you think you will be eating sit down meals every day.

You can also go to different websites for hotels off property and see what those costs would be. Mousesavers.com is a great site for money saving tips and discounts. And of course read the different Trip Planning boards here for lots of great information.

I can tell you that my frugal family of 4 can do a 6-7 day trip for around $1500 staying on property and not leaving to eat offsite. Driving your own car helps so you can eat offsite and bring some cold breakfast items to save you money on that meal.

There is a huge Disney world promotion going on right now....It is the time of your life to stay on-site and save tons on $$ on both resort stay and disney tickets. wachickofthesea at yahoo, if you have more questions. I just did my package this morning and save tons of $$ as well. Navy wife here but right now I think you get better deal just by using the whole package deal with disney. MIL deal isn't offered with everything, ie..meals, resort stay.

I would tell the in laws to come and join you at WDW, I am going in Feb for 2400 with discount going on, that is tickets, hotel and meals. Hurry up and call and get the savings.
