I was readin some of the post and I am getting scared. LOL. I want to confirm something. I bought my points and I chose AKV for my home. I was under the impression that I can use my points at any Disney Vacation club resort without penalty. Is this correct?
I also got 160 developer points for joining where can I use those?

You should double check this since I'm only 98% sure . . .

Your developer points are most likely at Saratga Springs and can ONLY be used there, and must be used within a year of you signing the contract. Develper Points are not normal points and come with these rules.

Your normal points can be used to book at AKV 11 months out, and at any other DVC resort 7 months out.

From 7-11 months out you can use your points at your home resort. From 7 months and less, you can use them at any DVC resort. Developer points can only be used at SSR, Disneyland Resort or by trading out to RCI. I'm not sure if you can use them at WDW resorts or not.
