Hello Fridge Friends


Sorry I haven't been back since I signed up... sometimes real life interferes with the fun.

My darling daughter (17) has really taken the reigns in reading up on the latest and fills me in. It's a big help!

I see that the dates before and after our trip (August 16 - 30) have been filled, so that should make the 'swap' part pretty easy as there won't be much storage time between.

I guess we can exchange names and cell phone numbers or ???
I'm not sure what the proper protocol is (our first swap) but I'll figure it out.

Ok, so I have taken in $105.72, which includes any paypal fees. The fridge cost $163.42, If the people who paid $10 in the begining would be willing to pay an additional $5 then is would be a little more doable, then it could continue as a free swap and we could still use this board to keep everything going. I'm not sure if anyone else has any ideas????

I would do the additional, not a problem, but there is new rules about swaps now, does everybody else know?

It has always been a rule on the DIS that anything involving money changing hands between members was not permitted on the boards. With that in mind, a decision has been made to end all swaps and shares that include money passing between DISers.

What does this mean?
Beginning today, all Photopass shares requiring a payment are over on the DIS. No new paid Photopass shares can be started.
Threads for existing Photopass shares will be locked on Friday of this week. Any new threads will be deleted beginning today unless they are offering the Photopass Share at no charge to participants.
Fridge and stroller swaps that are free can continue. However, if a refrigerator/stroller is lost or damaged, the swap leader cannot collect money from members to replace the lost/damaged item. Swaps may continue if an item is donated for the use of subsequent share members.
No new fridge or stroller swaps will be permitted to start unless the fridge/stroller is a donated item and the swap is free to all participants.
Any fridge or stroller swap that is not free to new members will be closed on Friday of this week. This will allow those leaders of swaps that are currently collecting money to decide whether they are willing/able to offer their swap for free. On Friday, any swap threads that are not free will be locked and their links will be removed from the sticky threads.

I don't know if it's ok for people who choose to donate to the fridge swap to do that. Still be free but if someone wanted to give "$10" not requiered however to participate that might be ok? maybe?

Just came across this swap. We did a stroller swap and that was great. I am trying to convince DH to return next April. Is there going to be a ending date for this swap as we are considering staying at the ASMovies and would love a fridge.

I had posted this last week to see if any original swappers would like to help out. I'm not trying to bend the rules or anything I was just bumping up that post. I'm just having a hard time with my cost far the fridge being $70, but will do what I have to do to keep this swap going. If you'd like me to edit this out of the post that would be fine.

I'm sorry if the rules have not been made clear. No money can change hands between DISers at this point. Therefore, it is no longer possible to collect any funds from past, current or future swap members in order to defray the cost of maintaining the swap. I'm sorry, but those are the rules and we have to stick with them.
