New Al Lutz - Xmas Crowds, New DL E-Tickets, Lots of WoC News

That is a bummer, Judy. Hopefully you can splurge for the reserved seats?

Oh absolutely, or we might even do GC concierge, who I hope can share the DVC viewing area. But, I do feel bad for the guests who may not have the same financial options.

It will be interesting to see how the will accommodate people with disabilities, it may lead to more abuse of the system if the "payoff" is premier viewing.

depends if they know how to stand;) Not locking their knees etc.
My point is whether you do or not, (I don't either), many folks that visit DL stand in lines of an hour or more to ride various attractions, wait around more than an hour to watch Fantasmic or Fireworks, or parades...
That is why for us that know how to use Fast Passes we don't.:)
I agree that standing stacked in a small area in the heat of a Socal summer evening is a recipe for a few cases of heat stroke, and fainting from standing incorrectly.
I am not sure there is a "correct" way to stand for the elderly? Or people like me who live with some level of physical challenge. It is not usually a topic i ever bring up because I have lived with fibromyalgia for over a decade and activity and energy pacing is a way of life. I am way to stubborn to let it dictate how I live my life.....but I am unable to stand (without pain) for even 5 minutes without leaning on something. We don't even watch Fantasmic at WDW because I cant tolerate the backless seating either.

Judy, I also have chronic pain issues (due to an untreated disc problem in my back, I have a lot of back pain every now and then and, more regularly, I have tremendous leg pain related to that same disc issue), and have been in pain the last few DLR trips I have made from 2007 - 2009. Usually - unless the pain "is a ten" on that dreadead 1 - 10 pain scale that the doctors and nurses refer to - I can push myself through long days at DLR, even without a significant rest. It may not be the wisest thing to do, but I do it. I think the idea of spending all that money motivates me to push myself.:rotfl2::rotfl2: December 2007 was one of my worst trips, as I had the terrible pain in my legs and hips, as well as plantar fasciitis acting up at the same time! I was not a happy camper that year!

That said, I always do much, much better if I keep moving. I can push through the pain if I keep walking and going, going, going and don't take too much time to sit down while in the parks. For some reason, if I sit down in the parks, then by the time I get up again I am in worse pain than if I had just kept walking. Standing in place can be agonizing. That is one reason why Fantasmic and fireworks and parades and things like that don't appeal to me too much. So I don't know if I will be racing to see WoC when it begins, but I am sure that eventually I will catch it!
