NEW! 2002 Cruise Video!

We got the new DCL video in the mail today. It covers the new Western itinerary... shows many of the excursions available. Spends a good bit of time talking about the Eastern itinerary... St Maarten and St Thomas/St John. Very little time spent on the 3/4-night trips.

Lots of animated dolphins swim alongside the ship... animated seagulls fly alongside the ship. Animated fish go swimming among the snorkelers at Castway Cay.

Completely GONE are all of the family testimonials. Nobody standing in front of the camera talking about how much fun they're having and how their kids didn't want to leave the kids' clubs.

The 2001 video had very little change from the 2000 video. The 2002 video is very different.

I love my copy, but worry it's going to wear out. When I need a DCL fix, sad, or depressed, I put the tape in the VCR and there she is. There always is the trip report page, too! lol.

We (or should I say DW Sue) loaned our copy of the cruise video to someone who has failed to return it despite our name being written all over the tape and the case. Our video was pre-seven day, probably from 2000. I only discovered it was missing when I went to show the video to Sue's Aunt Irene who will be cruising with Sue and her mom on the October 3rd 3-day.

So there's only one thing more depressing that wearing out your DCL video. That's losing it altogether.

Ooo, sounds cool. We'll have to order one! We have a whole collection of DCL videos, dating back to the beginning.
I always joke with hubby because lately our cruises have not coincided with Cruise Director Rick's schedule (and we love to cruise with him...he is a riot!!). So I joke that at least we can see him on the cruise video.

I just received the new video in the mail last week. And yes there are lots or animated dolphins/fishes in the new one. Some things are still the same though.

I would love to be able to view any of the DCL videos as we are doing our first cruise in July. However for some reason DCl will not ship the video to the UK?? modern VCR's are compatible with all standards of tape.

This policy is not very globally minded by DCL.

Hmmphh.

I got the 2000-2002 one from a TA (despite using Costco!!) last week, and they asked for a $10 deposit to make sure I return it LOL!.

I am waiting to get my own copy from the postcard, glad it is good!

We always have at least half a dozen cruises booked at any one time, and they still send us one whenever we call.

You can also request a tape from the disney offical website, disney.com, then go to vacations, then click on the boat, its there somewhere, they ask a few ?s & send you a tape

I ordered the cruise video off disney.com

Go to the Disney vacation area. FYI, I had tried to order it through the DCL 800 # but the put me through to a VRU. They asked several questions (age, date of last cruise etc. . .) and with DS5 chatting in the background I wasn't able to finish the transaction. The web was much easier.
