I don't believe this article has been updated since 2001. And no where is reliability discussed. The whole article seems to be about write speed, but if you are losing data due to cheaply made CF cards, write speed means nothing. Sandisk Ultras are widely accepted as being the best CF cards available. Lexar Pros are also a good choice but there are some issues with the Rebel XT. Personally I prefer to have several "smaller" cards than one large one. I rotate six Sandisk/Lexar 1GB cards in my camera, that way if ever I have a card failure ALL of my pictures will not be lost on a dead card. I know it is tempting to save money somewhere due to the high cost of owning a DSLR but the pictures you take are a slice of time that won't repeat itself.
