Never used ME

I am planning on using the ME for the first time in Dec. I know this is the most popular question... but if my plane lands at 8:40p do you think it's feasable to say we could be in our room by 10p? I have a 3 year old and am wondering how he will handle a late trip (my other option is to fly out the next am at 7a). Hmmm..... Anyone ever used ME this late at night?

It seems to be an average time of about 70 minutes from the plane to your resort. So, based on that you should be at your resort by 10, but your bags might not be. It can take up to four hours for bags to get to your room. Be sure to pack anything you may need for that first night in a carryon.

You should take the late flight and dress your child in his pjs for the flight. He probably will fall asleep on the plane. Have a backpack with your immediate needs like toiletries, snacks, emergency change of clothes for the child and nightclothes for you.

When you get off plane be prepared to have backpack on and very sleepy child in arms. As soon as they unload the strollers out you should be able to transfer him into it and make your way to ME, ride the bus and arrive without your child waking up fully.

The next morning you wake up in DISNEYWORLD :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc and you are on your way. MAGICAL!

The alternative is to fly out on that early flight, arrive in a busy airport, get to the hotel where your room is likely NOT ready and have to deal with all of that hassle. Best to arrive night before ready to go in the morning.

okay... another stupid question... how do they do strollers on a plane? I was going to bring mine... but have never flown with a child before and didn't know if they went with "checked" baggage or what?!?

Take it with you to the gate. The representatives at the gate will give you a gate check tag. You stroll the stroller down the jet way and at the bottom right before you get on the plane you hand your stroller off. There is usually a person to take the stroller but I did have one instance where we just left it by the door. When you get off the plane the stroller will show up in the same area of the arrival airport.

Right.

This is called "gate checking," and make sure you tell a gate agent about it as soon as is convenient for you. You don't want to wait until the last minute when the gate agents are busy and you don't want to stop everything to fill out your info on a tag, etc.

When you get off the plane, pull off to the side in the jetway as soon as you exit the plane. You'll wait there a minute or two, or if you're seated at the back of the plane the stroller might already be in the jetway by the time you deplane.

Since you are flying to Orlando, you surely won't be the only person gate-checking a stroller!
