We have only been on a family trip to Disney once (August '07) and we are going to book a second trip for June as we are now addicted!! We stayed at Pop last time and really enjoyed it. It met all of our needs..we were on the go most of the time, trying to see all that we we could, so we were not in the hotel that often. However on this trip, we were wanting to upgrade to a moderate. This time we decided to re-arrange the budget and go for it. CSR appeals to all of us (DH, ME, DD11, DS8)..my kids are excited about the pool and the slide, and we thought the whole resort was really beautiful. (We looked at Buzz 2001's website ..Thank you Buzz 2001 for all the great info and pics!!! Your website really helped us decide!) My questions are:

How is the bus system with June crowds... we will not have a car, therefore will depend on the buses. I loved seeing in one of the pics that it has covered wait areas for buses! I didn't realize how important shaded wait areas for buses were until standing in line without cover at Pop last August. :scared1:

Is it worth it to ask for a preferred room? I realize from the map how huge the resort is and at the end of a day filled with walking, it might be nice to hop off the bus and get to the room quickly. Plus, being near the Pepper Market with kids would be a plus... is it so spread out that preferred isn't really worth it or would it make a big difference in convenience to pay for preferred?

What are the quietest rooms/sections? Does this conflict with the preferred room question? We will be taking an afternoon break each day to rest; I realize this is a hotel, and there will be noise in each and every hotel, but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this...

And a big question is about the pool...are they refurbishing the pool? Does anyone know if it will it be done in June?? My kids are ready to try out that slide, and that was part of their resort decision making! I saw that they were working on the Dig site? My kids had no interest in this...just the slide.

Thank you to anyone with advice...we really appreciate it and hope to book a ressie tonight!!!! We are so excited! :woohoo:

CSR has some of the best bus transportation because it has a central location and quick rides to all the parks. The buses and pools are usually less crowded because its a convention resort. CSR doesn't have preferred room only waterview which doesn't guarantee a specific location. Just make you room request at time of booking. My family enjoys the cabana section. The slide is supposed to be closed for the month of April.

We have stayed at CSR several times and will be back the last weekend in May. The transportation is great, we never use our car even if we have it with us. There are 4 bus stops within the resort, so you can use the one closest to your building. Your kids will enjoy the Dig Site pool area and slide, so I would request a room in the Cabanas section or in Ranchos 7B. Both of these are the closest to the main pool and not a bad walk to El Centro either. I think you will really enjoy this resort, once we went up to a moderate we don't want to go back to the values for more than a night or two. This year, we are staying at the Beach Club Villas for 5 nights, then moving to CSR for 2 nights. Can't wait! Enjoy your trip.

We stayed at CSR in June. The bus service was tremendous as always, the temps where hot and humid in Fl. Lots of afternoon thunderstorms but they don't last.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

From my experience, the casitas were the loudest. I would call ahead and ask them for a specific location (ranchos or cabanas). The ranchos seem quiet, but they are a walk from the main building. The cabanas are convenient to everything, and decently quiet.

We were there in late June last year. Buses were great and we were in casitas and had no noise issues whatsoever. I think that depends on the groups there when you are. We happened into a trip for a Canadian Deaf organization, so that might have helped make it quiet. Cabanas 3 isn't a bad walk to the Pepper Market, but the pool is a bit far. Still, we managed to go every day! Too hot not to and the slide is fabulous.

Thank you to everyone for responding and all the great advice! I had no idea that the resort had 4 bus stops...I totally missed that on the map! That is fantastic...We made reservations (so excited :goodvibes ) and we requested the cabanas. The CM, who was extremely nice, said she would make a note of our request, but could not guarantee any certain location. Should I follow up in some way (with a written request or a fax) or is this as far as I am going to get, and that is the norm? (The CM was having computer problems when we called and the power went out on her as we talked, LOL so I hope we have the ressies period! Not to be paranoid, but going to call back today just to make sure..) Would love to know what you think I should do, if anything further about the room request....Thanks again to this board for always being so helpful!

We have always stayed in Casitas 4 or 5 (once we were in 2 or 3--the first time when we brought the kids) and have never had an issue with it being noisy at all. We love 4 or 5 because it is very close to the Quiet Pool and the Spa/Fitness Center.

Thanks for the link about requests...great info- Buzz2001, I have been looking at the pictures on your website for too long today! Great, great website...thanks!
