Hi, I've been to WDW so many times for so many years. Yet, I've never had a pin code sent to me or my household. How do these pin codes get sent? How can I increase my chances of getting one? :sad1:

Thanks in advance

Don't go for a year. Make sure that they have your email and correct address on file.

And then don't go for a year.

I never got one in the mail or by email either. So I called and asked if there was a code attached to my name in the system - and there was. So just call and ask - you might be pleasantly surprised! :)

I go every year and my old email (even though I *have* updated my email) gets 3-5 pin codes a year. :confused3

humour me-- what is a pin code?

Pin codes are special offers sent out to people via email or snail mail (usually in the form of a large postcard). It will state exactly what the offer is, when the offer is good, and will also display a series of numbers that is the actual pin code. When you call to make a reservation, you refer to this pin code to get the discount (provided the rooms are available). Pin codes are attached to specific households, so if I got a pin code, I could not give it to you, for example.

There really isn't a rhyme or reason for determining who gets a pin code. Some people have guessed it's a matter of how often (or how little) you go to WDW (though people in both categories have or haven't received codes regardless of the number of times they've visited), some have guessed it's about geographical location, and other have guessed all kinds of various demographics. But really, we don't know. Your best bet is to register with disney.com and hope you get a code.

I have been married and living out of my parents' house for 12 years and today my mother brought over some 'mail' I received at her house with my maiden name on it.....and it was the 40% off HAT CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how long ago my mom received it but I can't believe that after 12 years of not using that name or address they sent me a promo code. Go figure!

Thanks, I'll be sure to call and ask, maybe I'll have some :wizard: magic.

I know they have my e-mail on file, and I never receive anything from them via e-mail or mail :sad1:

You'll never know unless you call! Keep us posted!

didn't work for us.. I have skipped a year and got nothing.. I guess its just a random thing... who knows..

Besides the Mickey Spin the Wheel one?

Yes there are more than one. My son got the one that looks like a suitcase and you unfold it and it has a pin number on it--it mentions that it's time to pack your bags and take a trip. Some folks have mentioned one with stitch on it.

I called three times and all three times I was told it is a random thing :sad1: No list or any method they use other then random :sad2:

It is a marketing strategy--you go often enough that they do not need to entice you to go. Take a break and you might get one. But that is not a guarantee either.

But I could ask my cousin. She works in marketing at WDW.

I was told its based off demographics that they get off of room surveys and the guys with the clipboards standing at the ticket takers.

Just got the "ears" postcard mailed to us in my children's names. I had ordered the promo DVD off their site last year and had it sent to them (used "Kids" as first name). One way to get on the list, but no guarentee that you'll be sent one... secret marketing formula.

i must have gotton mine cause i ordered the vacation planning dvd last year we did go to disney but stayed off site
