We have never been to Universal but have always wanted to go. I am wondering if this is the year. What is the cheapest to go? We'll be in ASM @ WDW the mid to end of June for the AAU National Volleyball tournament and thought this might be a good time to venture over there.

Please help me plan a cheap visit...and my DH is retired military; if that helps.

How long are you planning on visiting? If you're only going for a single day, there are no discounts. Like Disney, the tickets get cheaper the longer you stay but day trippers can expect to pay $85.00 plus tax per person for a single day...not cheap.

I'm thinking a week...I did see on the Shades of Green site we could get 2 day/1 park tickets for $116. How important is it to go to both parks in one day and do we need 2 days to see it all? We'll be going the end of June...how busy is it at that time? Thank you!

Since you've never been, I really don't think it would be fair to yourself to rush through both parks in a single day. Just like you wouldn't do MK and AK in a single day for the first time. The end of June is at the beginning of the busy summer travel season so it will be busy and unless you want to skip lots of things at both parks, one day won't cut it...IMHO. I think you should take two full days and enjoy what Universal has to offer.
