DH & I are looking to take my parents for their very first time to WDW. Thinking of the first week of Nov., but with Jersey Week and Super Soap Weekend, I'm not sure it that's best crowd-wise. I think being first-timers they might feel overwhelmed if it's crazy-crowded (like when we went this past April -- WOW!).

Thanks in advance for your opinions -- love this board!!

All I can tell you is that traditionally, November is among the least-crowded times to go to WDW (except Thanksgiving weekend, of course). By then the weather is typically a little cooler, which makes it even more ideal.

From what I've heard, Jersey Week doesn't make WDW seem significantly more crowded, but there will just be a large proportion of people from NJ there. And if Super Soap weekend coincides with it, it sounds like there will be a lot of people from New Jersey who watch a lot of soap operas.

Come to think of it, maybe that's not the ideal week to go. Yikes. ;)

We were at WDW at the end of the first week of November 2005 and I don't remember it being crowded. We were at AK and Epcot ( mostly for the F&W festival) Epcot was very empty during the morning. We got on all the rides we wanted to even SOArin' It did get very crowded as the night wore on but during the day, we just ate and sipped our way around Epcot.

We're going the 1st - 5th which is supposedly the week before Jersey week. I'm hoping for low crowds and cool weather!!! Plus, we were originally going in September and switched to November - I was really worried about hurricanes!!

I would love to hear from others who have been in November!!

We are going 10/31 to 11/7 this year and were there on 11/1 to 11/8 last year. The last two days of our trip last year got a bit crowded because I believe it was Jersey week. Weather was great, except for first day, and we had a wonderful, wonderful time! We were able to go on everything we wanted to, and multiple times. We even went on Soarin 8 times!!!

Isn't Jersey Week the 2nd full week in Nov? We are planning on being there Nov4-11.

It was 6 years ago now, but my last visit to WDW was in November (two weeks before Thanksgiving). I had been to WDW usually in the summer and over holidays as a kid and remember it being unbearably hot in the summer and crowded in both summer and over holidays. That November trip was so not-crowded and with very comfortable temperatures. We walked right onto many rides, even the popular ones. We rode Countdown to Extinction (now Dinosaur) and Kali River Rapids over and over with no waits. The only park where we experienced short waits was MK and usually for the smaller rides (Pooh, Peter Pan, etc.). Probably more and more people visit WDW as years go on, but it must be true that November is traditionally a not-busy time to visit.

Jersey Week begins while you are there. We were there last November 6-12 during Jersey Week, and we did not think it was bad at all. It got crowded on our last two days there (Fri-Sat). This year we are going November 5-11th, also during Jersey Week. I think it may be a little more crowded than last year, but as long as you are at the parks at open, you'll be able to do whatever you want without too much waiting. Plus the weather was GORGEOUS!

I'm planning October 28-November 4 because I'm taking my parents too! It will be their first at Disney as well. I picked this date not only for the crowd level but weather as well. Tourplans.com is calling for a level 4 out of 10 crowd level, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

DH and I were at WDW last year frfom Nov 9-15. The crowds were great. The only big crowds we hit were on Sat and MGM because of Super Soap Weekend. It was a bear walking around the park because of the crowds, but we pretty much walked on every ride without a wait cause most people were there for the Soap stars. We are going back again this coming Nov and can't wait!!!!! :cool1:

We were there Nov 10 - 18 last year and it was a bit busy at epcot the weekend we got there.....food and wine festival. Other than that, we didn't think it was bad at all. We've been in April during spring break and that is the worst time! We are going Nov 10 - 18 again this year!! The Christmas stuff is out and it's a comfy temp outside. :thumbsup2

We're going in November (5-11) and went in 2004 also. It's a great time. We were there Jersey week last time and crowds were fine . . . just a bunch of Jersey neighbors there. My parents are coming along too. It's a great time for them to come . . . not too hot! See you there!

we have gone the past 2 years the week b4 t-day. crowds did not
exist until the sat b4 Tday it was so slow that 1 of the nights we were
at epcotin (05) DW,DH (me) and DS went on test track 2x' without getting out of the car. not bad. even the buse's were lonely with most times in the morning it was just us on them.. lol not that i am complaining. :thumbsup2

NC State,
We will be there the exact dates you will be, staying at POP as well!

I have seen a few people going these dates(Oct 28-Nov 4)...I hope it isn't out of control!
We won't be doing MNSSHP, so on those dates, we are taking in the other parks. I wonder if those parks will be full on those nights as well?

I vote for November too - this is our third November trip this year - the weather is great, crowds are low - just avoid the week prior to thanksgiving like the plague!

6 of my first 8 trips were all the first week of November. We always drove down on November 1, getting there November 2 and staying 11/2 - 11/7.

It was always pleasant weather, not too cold, and the crowds were awesome.

One trip we took in July was so miserable we almost left early because of heat and crowds.

And Christmas week? Yeah, we won't be doing that again.

Last week of April was perfect for us.

But my family wants to do November next trip. I would like to see the MNNSHP but think it will be crazier the week including Halloween than the week after, so we'll probably wait and go like we used to, Nov. 2 -7. I hope it isn't too much crazier than it used to be in the 80's and 90's.
