Living in the south I use a sunscreen with a high spf and still apply it at least a couple times a day. I love the Neutrogena spray on and usually get it in a spf 70. However, yesterday I was at Wal Mart and found the Neutrogena dry touch lotion with helioplex in a spf 100+. I didn't get it because I love the spray on, but thought someone else might be interested.

WOW
spf 100. I never knew it came that high. Thanks. My kids are pale and I am going to need a good sunscreen.

Lost my father to skin cancer 2 years ago this October 13th. As a school administrator, I regularly go to our Health/PE classes and talk about skin cancer/sun block and the importance of staying protected. I'll just say this: yeah, the stuff is sort of expensive at around $10/bottle. However, when my father had brain surgery to remove some cancer that had metastisized from the original place, the chemo "wafers" that they put in the incision cost $37K each (there were two of them). So, lets review the math here. $10/bottle at 3 to 4 bottles a year roughly $45 (with tax). Do that for 40 years if you are middle aged and you are looking at a total of $1800. If this is for a child, then double the total to $3600, which is still significantly less than $37K per chemo wafer. Just a little math lesson about the importance of sun block. Also, please make sure to read the application directions so that it is effective when you go out.

Dang, I guess that I should step off the soapbox now. Didn't mean to rant. Hope that I didn't offend anyone, but this is a very sensitive subject for me.

I'm a huge fan of spray sunscreen too! Whoever invented that deserves some sort of medal!!

It's one of my soapboxes too! I got sunburned a LOT as a child and was diagnosed with skin cancer at age 26. After surgical removal, it later came back at the end of my pregnancy......when my baby was 5 weeks old, I had drastic surgery that left a hole in my nose! After a number of reconstructive procedures, my nose looks good, but I'll always have scars and I'll always wonder when it's coming back to get me - in one form or another. My kids are both very fair, so you could say I'm a fanatic about keeping them slathered up!!! DON'T risk ruining your vacation or your health with a burn, be safe, MOST ESPECIALLY with your kids, who probably won't realize when they're starting to burn!!

Having a family of blond blue eyed kids and adults I to am a huge fan of sunscreen and no tanning beds! I saw the Neutrogena suncreen at the store the other day and wondered what someone with acne sensitive skin uses. Last year I bought a spray on and ended up breaking out really bad. Would love to hear if anyone else has had this problem.

Philosophy makes their basic moisturizer (Hope in a Jar) with SPF, that's a good starting layer, then I use Bare Escentuals makeup, which as SPF protection, so I feel that's a pretty good starting barrier each day........have you tried these? If you have problems with adding an actual sunscreen product, these would at least give you basic protection each day.

I have severe acne and use Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunblock. It doesn't seem to make it any worse. Actually, it makes your skin white, so it hides some of the redness. Of course I look like a ghost, but better a ghost than a goblin. *sigh*

Try one of the baby sunscreens on your face.

I had been introduced to the Neutrogena Dry Touch sunscreen by youngest DD's dermatologist. We live in the Caribbean, DD and I both have sensitive skin that reacts to everything. I made the mistake of trying a less expensive sunblock, which made my allergies and heat rash flare up so badly, I thought I was going to have live underground like Thumbelina to get away from the sun! Hardly practical when I live in a year-round hot climate!

I switched back to the Neutrogena Dry Touch for my recent 10 day Orlando trip - no issues whatsoever.

It might seem a bit expensive at nearly $10 for a tube, but I have no intention of switching brands again any time soon.
