Neurotic Cats and Kitty Prozac

I have a 6 year old Flame Point mix by the name of Furface, that is completely in left field.

Three summer's ago, our 13 yo nephew came and stayed with us and the cat just got more psycho than normal. She cornered him in the bathroom and was growling and hissing at him. Our Nephew called us at work and all you could hear was the cat growling, hissing, and swating at the phone when he put it in front of her! After we got finished laughing about it, I made a vet appointment.

Are you ready for the kicker . . . . . wait for it . . . . wait for it. . . .

She was put on Kitty Prozac! Has anyone else heard about this before?

I haven't ever used it, but I've had several online friends who have cats who have used it with success.

When we moved our kitty didn't handle it well at all. She stayed in one room, in one corner, wouldn't use the litter box, hissed at other cat. No signs of it getting better.

Solution: Kitty valium (sp?) 6 week prescription - total $2 !!
