Netwinner

According to the thread on the sr forums, they are keeping the link up. However, "they will not actively push it to their members". I'm not sure how I feel about that.

My guess is there is some kind of contract managing the relationship. Besides that, I can't imagine why anyone would want to be in bed with Netwinner at this stage in the game.

http://club.live.com/home.aspx is another site to play fun games. You can't win any gift cards but you can earn points for Microsoft products like the Zune and xbox games. I've cashed in my points for frequent flyer miles to get to WDW the next time. Flexicon is the biggest point winner over there and that's what I usually play.

I am a little confused why you all think that SR is in the wrong here. SR and Netwinner are 2 different companies and if people still want to play the game with the new rules, then so be it.
With so much fraud these days, I don't blame Netwinner at all, I'm sure they had to have these rule changes to stay in business. It does suck that you should have been paid with e cards, but maybe the prizes they come out with will be just as good as taking the ecard and buying whatever you wanted. To me Netwinner was something to do in my spare time and I never looked at it from a making money point of view.
Just my 2 cents.

Nobody here blames SR for what happened or thinks they are doing anything wrong. I mean, SR has to make decisions to keep their business viable. And you may be right, that there is a contract involved or something like that. I have no idea. I'm just sad that SR would continue to do business with a company that would do something like that to its members. If you recall, just a few months ago, there was a big brouhaha over some deal on Boca Java. And at that time Tricia decided to sever SR's relationship with Boca Java because of the way they treated SR members. I don't know. I know this has probably been a very hard decision for Tricia to make.

Anyway, it's not about SR...it's about Netwinner and how they treated us. I had cashed out for a total of $50 that I will never see. And that really annoys me. But, it pisses me off more to think about the people that spents hours and hours over the course of months or years that will never see a dime.

I have no problem with SR...I'm a big fan and am on it daily. And I don't think they are in the wrong just because they partner with Netwinner.

I do however think that they should end their relationship with Netwinner. What Netwinner did was unethical, if not illegal, and I know SR works hard to run an honest site. SR takes down offers which they find do not payout as promised, why should Netwinner be allowed to stay. They haven't paid anyone in 6 months and have now decided not to pay anyone at all. If they are following their own principles, Netwinner should be taken off the SR site too.

In the forum, they have stated they will keep partnering with their site and that is their choice. I am very disappointed, however.

Honestly, why stay? What good will come with linking with them? With all the bad "stuff" going around with reward sites, why continue a relationship with a site that is going to hit the ground hard real soon with possibly some litigation involved? You do not want to be found guilty by association.

Don't those Partner sites get paid no matter what? I thought I read somewhere about a contract where they're paid monthly or something like that? Anyone know? Maybe that explains why SR hasn't stopped associating with Netwinner?

I just found a site called boomertowne where you can play games, post recipes, check stock quotes, all kinds of things and earn points that you can cash in for prizes or gift cards. Did some googling on it and it looks legit so I've decided to give it a shot.

Woops - posted this before I read Kycha's post. Anyway, it looks promising...

Can anyone tell me more about them. How many points to get a gift card, etc...

At Boomertowne, it takes 12,500 points to get a $25 gift card from Target or Best Buy. For a $50 Visa card, you need 25,125 points. I just joined yesterday and have 1,500 points. You can earn a max of 1500 points per day.

I love Boomertowne. Not only can you earn stuff quick but there is so much interesting info there. I've found info on there that I've seen nowhere else. The news links are updated very fast. Interesting discussion area. Chat section.

I don't think anyone here has said SR is in the wrong here - it is all about Netwinner and how they have deceived players for months - from the inexplicable delay in prize delivery to this "straw that has broken the camel's back." SR is awesome. :thumbsup2 Tricia is a smart lady with a law degree and I'm sure she has reasons why she is standing behind NW and knows what she is doing. I think folks are remembering how previous relationships were severed and are wondering why this one isn't being ended when Netwinner's business practices are so blatently unethical, if not illegal.

If Netwinner hadn't adopted "You Play, We Pay" as their slogan, I don't think people would have looked at the site as a way to "win" a couple of dollars on a gift card. I certainly didn't sit there for easily over an hour each day pressing that "play" button on the Money Wheel because it was a blast. It was in the hope of winning that gift card that was promised in their rules, or forbid, the $1,000,000.00 jackpot. Like THAT was ever going to happen!

It was a sweepstakes or contest or sorts and you just can't retroactively change the rules and expect that it's OK. I'm sure there are laws against that and that's why many people are contacting the NC Atty General. If people were playing by NW's rules, they have the right to the prize they were promised per NW rules at the time they played the game. If people weren't playing by the rules, then I don't understand how. They told us they supposedly "fixed" the system when they restricted the number of plays to 100 per day and then, again, by changing the last ball to a "bonus entry." So, I'm not really sure how fraud could still be going on.

As far as their prizes, I don't think they have any immediate plans to offer redemption for points. You'll only be able to cash your points in for "chances" for prizes. And, I think the raffles are a huge ripoff. Hundreds of points for 1 entry for a portable DVD player that probably costs $100. Since the last change to a "bonus entry," I've been lucky if I got 150 points a day in 100 spins PLUS the banko. I'm not willing to spend days spinning that wheel to get 1 entry for a Bissell floor cleaner that I'd never win. And if I DID win, what are they odds that I would get my prize?

You're absolutely right - everyone is free to play where they wish but I'd rather spend my time on other sites where I have confidence rules are being followed.

You know, if the games were any fun to play I might stay. I enjoy playing games and am always looking for new ones. And if I could play a fun game and get chances to win free stuff, that would be fantastic! But, Banko and Moneywheel are a drag to play. And it takes forever. I'm still trying to figure out how people managed to play unlimited spins/cards a day.

If people want to play it, SR might as well make it available to them.

That happens in real life too...our former naturopath didn't offer something, and kept losing patients who really wanted to work with her. She decided to offer a very limited amount of those things, so that she didn't lose those patients and could perhaps show them why they might want to rethink their stance in the future (that last part is just to finish the story about our ex ND, not to draw a connection, not in any way, shape, or form....WHY do I feel the need to tell "the rest of the story" whenever I post something? lol).

I'll probably play netwinner through SR in the future, just not as often as before.

And she recently stated that if enough members wanted to give them another chance, she would see about adding them again. They didn't treat everyone poorly; I only ever ordered coffee, not the enormously good deal that was pretty much obvious a technical problem that caused many of the problems (and their subsequent handling of the orders that went out and arrived damaged was rotten), and they dealt with my orders perfectly. I quit in solidarity, but gosh their coffee was good!

I figure there was something in NW's terms of service that said they could change things at any time... I think I'll start reading TOS pages a bit more closely in the future.

This needs to be bumped back to the top periodically to prevent newbies from falling into this scam.

Any reward program which can just cancel its outstanding payments, and just continue on like nothing happened should be held accountable.

Newbies should be warned that this site might be paying new winners, but since there has been no ownership or management change, that the company may decide in the future to again just decide to not pay.

The posters on this board can tell you about more fun, and more profitable sites to earn money and have fun on.

My little $25 cashout is still showing as "processing." I wonder what the chances are of my actually receiving it. I had been playing all the Bankos and about half the spins each day, but I don't think I'll make that a priority any more.

Mine are still processing too(2x$25). I'm not holding out any hope of receiving my payouts. I haven't played since the beginning of the month.

I wonder why some are still pending. How far back were yours because mine from December were canceled but maybe November ones are sticking around?

There is no way I will play with them anymore. No way in hell. They treat people poorly and I will not waste my time or get them anymore money.

Mine are from Feb and March.

I think that is part of the problem too... some payments were canceled... and it sounds like some were not...
My cashout from February was canceled.
