We are coming 10/18 with a lot of little kids and want to stock up on some snack foods and a contaqiner of milk. We are not renting a car - we are getting picked up at the airport by mears.

Anyone ever have them make a stop for you at the grocer store? How much extra do they charge? Or I see some people have used netgrocer? Is that a better alternative?

I have never used netgrocer, but we did have the towncar serice stop at the store. The build a half hour grocery store stop into the transportation.

It was great!

We have never used netgrocer. The towncar service included a 1/2 hour grocery store stop into the transportation.

Worked well for us.

Is the town car the same as Mears?
We are a party of 11 so we have a van.
I didn't arrange the transportation so I am not sure what you
are referring to with town car.

Mears is not a towncar service. A towncar service is a reserved vehicle with a driver. Only your party are in the vehicle, and the driver meets you at the baggage claim. Mears is a shuttle service that will likely have other people in the same vehicle with you. They run buses, as well as smaller mini-buses. To my knowledge, they do not make any grocery stops.

You may want to post over on the transportation board to see if using Mears is the best thing to do. I believe that Mears charges per person, while a towncar service charges a flat fee for the whole vehicle. With a party of 11, one flat fee would certainly seem to be a much better deal. Also, with Mears, you may have a lengthy wait or a longer drive while they drop off people from other resorts. Maybe not the best thing when you have lots of little kids in your group. It would not be too late for you to book a towncar service if you decide to switch to that. (Some of the companies are Tiffany, FLtours, Cartier, HappyLimo.)

Sorry I can't answer anything about netgrocer. But again, with lots of little kids in your party, stopping at a grocery store might not be great. I think I'd go with netgrocer even if I wound up paying a little more. JMHO.

Good luck, and have a marvelous trip! :D

I used Netgrocer two years ago, with no problem at all! It was packed nicely and waiting at our hotel when we checked in. The prices are not bad. You could get most of the stuff cheaper in your local grocery store, but it's not a huge difference. Also, the grocery stores around The World are not that cheap either, so I don't know how much you'd save by stopping.
The only thing I would caution you with Netgrocer is they don't have refrigeration in their delivery service, therefore they don't sell anything that needs refrigeration (meat, produce or regular milk). I don't know if you like Parmalat, but we didn't. For that reason I am thinking of stopping at Publix on our way from the airport. Good luck deciding.
