Do you have Netflix? Do you like it? Any opinions on it? Give them here...

I would, once I get a DVD player (in about a month or so). I think it's great concept. Here in NYC, it will cost me $5 to rent ONE DVD. Plus, unless you rent it on Wed night, nothing decent is left on Sat.

I would really want to hear what others have to say about NetFlix.

I have been renting with Netflix for about 6 months. I love it!! No trips to the video store...no rushing to get them back on time...everything I want is right there you can even reserve movies that haven't been released to DVD yet! I am completely happy with it!

and we LOVE it. My husband works nights and has the only vehicle, so I am stuck at home all the time. I love being able to rent 3 at a time and not having to rush them back to the store. The prepaid envelopes make it very handy too (of course this is part of your monthly fee). If there is a movie in the theatre that I know I won't make it to see, I just add it to my rental queue and viola, I have it as soon as it hits DVD. As soon as we watch a movie we pop it in the mailbox and have another one within a few days. (I like to see how many rentals I can get in a month. yes, I'm a Netflix junkie!) Try it, I think you'll love it. The only downside is if you have the movies at your house and you just don't have time to watch them, it becomes real easy for a few weeks to pass and you've really wasted that months fee. The good side is that you can put your account on hold if you are not going to be able to watch the movies for a certain amount of time. You don't get charged and you can keep your queue.

Been there, done that, we found that we watched a bunch of DVDs during the free trial period but once we were members they would pile up for WEEKS and we never had time to watch them. I finally cancelled the membership after about 7 months of paying for three DVDs we never watched.

If you DO watch DVDs a lot then it is a good deal but we just don't in our house.

We enjoy it. I always found it hard to go rent a movie. This way, I just put them in my rental queue and when they get to the top they are in the mailbox waiting for us. I've watched more movies over the last several months than I probably have in the last 10 years.

We are Netflix users, and have been for many months.

Now what I am wondering -- what will the self destructing disposable DVD's do to companies like Netflix?
Will Netflix people move to those instead?

I voted yes for the above reasons. Those, and the fact that I am notoriously bad at returning movies on time!:o I figure that even if I only watch 3 movies a month, it all evens out for me financially.

We just joined Netflix last week and so far we think we are going to like it. DH and I both love to watch movies and we used to go out to the movies and rent at least once a week but since DS's arrival we never really have a good opportunity.

I was always afraid the rent movies because so many times I would think that I might have the time to watch one only to get home and find out that it was going to be a difficult night with DS and I would not have time so I ended up paying for a movie I never watched. Or what would happen most often is DH and I would put in a movie after DS goes to sleep and one or both of us is asleep halfway through the movie. Then we either returned it without watching all of it or we had to pay the late fees to keep it another night.

This way I don't have to worry about late fees and if I unexpectedly have an hour or two free up then I already have the movie there waiting on me. Plus if it takes me 3 nights to get through one movie I don't have to worry. :)

So far, so good. We do watch the movies we get........the longest we've kept a movie without watching is about a week. If you do that, you can really make good use of Netflix. We used to get late fees, usually only for a day or so, but they started to really add up. Now that's not a problem. We used to watch a movie whether we really wanted to or not because'it has to go back tomorrow.' Now that's not a problem. We have somewhat unusual tastes in movies - I like a lot of indie films and classics and DD likes old movie musicals - we found that Netflix has just about everything we've looked for. So, now that's not a problem.
It works well if you don't hang onto the movies forever!
