Netflix as a gift?

OK so does anyone know how the plans work with streaming Netflix? Is there a monthly limit? We just purchased a new TV and BluRay set up, and have the capability to stream, but haven't set up our 2 week free trial yet. But this thread has me thinking... We also got my mom a BR player and she also has a new TV (same as ours just a bit smaller) so she should be able to stream as well. Could be a great gift for her (she would never drop them in the mail), but if on demand is reasonable and covered by a monthly flat rate (and works well). Anyone try it or have advice there?
I started a thread about the streaming box (Roku) as I'm thinking of doing that with netflix. I got lots of great info. To summarize, I believe that with netflix you can have the minimum plan and get unlimited streaming video whereas blockbuster and amazon have pay per use type of downloads available. I like the unlimited thing with netflix plus you'd still get 1 movie out at a time by mail. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks Cruisn for the link, I didn't realize streaming didn't have a lot of current movies. We're the skip the theater and buy it on DVD release day type (1 DVD is cheaper than the theater for 5) so I'm not thinking it would be the best option for us now. We have a 2 week free trial though so I'm sure we'll give it a try anyhow.

Also for everyone else, I was looking more into the gift subscriptions and found this on their website. I'm not sure the ones I would gift it to would remember to cancel so again, maybe not the best idea.
http://www.netflix.com/Gift
"At the end of the Gift Card period, Redeemer authorizes Netflix to automatically renew the membership and bill Redeemer's payment method monthly for membership fees and applicable tax unless Redeemer cancels prior to the end of the Gift Card period. Although the membership is cancelable at anytime, there is no refund or credit for partially used periods. Redeemer can click on the "Your Account" link for cancellation instructions. As a convenience, Netflix may notify Recipient two (2) weeks prior to the Gift Card period end that the Gift Card is ending and automatic monthly billing will begin. It is Recipient's responsibility to cancel the membership if Recipient does not wish to continue past the Gift Card period."

Granted they send out reminders but for my not overly tech savvy MIL that calls instead of replying to an email I'm pretty sure she'd end up sucked into membership.
