Netflights for hotel only???

Hi there

anyone ever use Netflights for hotel only portion of their trips?

Just interested in your experience with them if you have? Would you be able to check with the hotel that they have the booking before you leave? and if so, how far in advance (we are looking to travel next Easter)

Just worried we would book and then get there and there be no reservation! and that wouldn't be a great start to the holiday. I just like to know everything is sorted - and there should be no hitches! - and this is my first time on DIY!

I use Netflights as much as any other company, been using them since they started in 1992 as Airline Network for flights, hotels and car rental. Now owned by Thomas Cook http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetFlights
Used them for our flights at Easter this year.

Saying that I now find them expensive for hotels. If you post your details, hotel, dates, and price I will have a look for a better deal if you want.

As for ringing the hotel, no idea, not something I ever do. I book anything upto 10 hotels a year online, never a problem thankfully. I believe many reservations are just block bookings so the hotels don't know individual names who are checking in until a few days before check in.

It's for the miami leg of our holiday - managed to get flights out 20th April and looking at the Albion Hotel Miami beach from 20-23 April. Net flights have for £288 - everywhere else seems to be £400+ (other than Travelrepublic which is same as netflights but has very bad reviews)

If you can get cheaper great!!!

I don't know a lot about Miami, never been.
Just had a quick look and the difference could be the room size.

GTA hotels have Double Full Size Bed-petite(Same as Netflights) at £300 less 8% Quidco = £276 but they also have Double Or Twin Guest Room at £360 less 8% = £331.20 (although it doesn't say deluxe room)

If you look direct on the hotels website http://www.rubellhotels.com/html/south-beach-miami-lodging.asp it says a Petite room is 180 sq ft a Deluxe room is 335 sq ft. If you do a dummy booking it gives all details of rooms.

The pictures shown on netflights are the Deluxe room, not the Petite room as far as I can see.

I suspect you are looking too far in advance for this hotel, seaches for this month are showing from about £55/night on a lot more sites. Although you are looking for Easter dates which will put the price up. Not yet available on their own site or many others, I like all sites to release prices before I book a hotel.

Looks like I'm being too keen !! I was just worried with our dates being Easter that we may struggle in getting something at a reasonable price.

Just so I know when to seriously start looking, how soon are dates generally released for hotels?

I may be back for more help later - hope you don;t mind but gather from the posts on here you have a wealth of knowledge and experience!!

You can't say when the best time is to book, its a matter of keep checking until you are happy with a price. For this last Easter I didn't book until 7th Feb. Offers kept coming and going but nothing jumped out at me so left it later than usual.
I have already seen good deals for next August (2011) so its never too early to look, just need to wait til you see the right offer.

Search Travelsupermarket.com and www.hotelscombined.com they scan a lot of companies easier, to get better results I think I searched Miami beach rather than just Miami on one of them, not sure which.
