Netbook recommendations?

We are getting our daughter one. She needs to really learning to type since in middle school they have to type their homework.

It seems all the major players have them and we would like to pay less than $300.

Any recommendations?

I am hoping we can get a deal on Black Friday as well.

DH and I both have Asus eee 10" netbooks and love them. We upgraded the ram on both to 4gb and use them constantly. The battery life is crazy good and I have Open Office on mine and it runs perfectly. More questions, just ask!

Do you use the touch screen or stylus?

Does it come with Windows? I am not that savvy and not sure what Open office is.
