My family can't seem to get enough of these! DS7 helped me make a homemade batch (following the directions on the back of the chocolate morsels) and within a day or two DH and DS7 just about ate all of them (I only got to have a few). I made another batch by myself yesterday and they too, are almost gone. Ahhh, the joy of making chocolate chip cookies during the holidays

So do you prefer to make your cookies from scratch or buy the ready made dough?

mmmmm......my favorite.

Sadly my cookies usually turn into a disaster if I try to make them from scratch.

Nothing beats a nice warm Nestle toll house cookie and a cold glass of milk.

mmmmm. we love these too. i throw in holiday M&M's at holiday time instead of chocolate chips. I also have found that I prefer them baked using butter flavored crisco rather than a stick of butter. Just my preference though.

I actually froze 2 batches yesterday and I may have to go bake a few :)

Holiday M&M's...I gotta try that the next time.

When I have the time I love making these from scratch but in a pinch the premade dough does just fine.

Hmmmm I wonder if we have any chocolate chips in the house :scratchin

I can eat them either way but prefer made from scratch. I did just make the tollhouse cookies from scratch the other day. They are gone so I guess I will have to make another batch. They don't last long around here thats for sure!

i only make cookies from scratch.
Love, love Toll House.....so seldom make them. I am the problem and eat them all. Can't resist them hot out of the oven.
I freeze them, hoping that will help ;) but then I micro them :rotfl:

I have made 6 batches in the past week and they are in the freezer! They taste so good frozen. My second favorite cookie recipe came from Nancy (see post above);) and it is a 3 ingredient short bread cookie! These are always a huge hit in my house!:thumbsup2

If I were baking cookies, from scratch of store bought, it would never make it to the oven. I love, chocolate chip cookie dough...

mmmmmm cookies....while I prefer homemade at times it's easier to just do store bought. When I make Nestle I do a double batch and they never last more then a few days. :)

This thread inspired me and I just made two batches of cookies. Now hopefully they'll last until the weekend.

Same here. I love eating the cookie dough. However, I like the taste of the mix with the sugars, butter, vanilla extract and eggs together as well as the dough itself.

Just like the commercial :goodvibes

Glad you enjoy them, Dyan. They are easy and soooo good.

Wow, I thought you were talking about my house there for a minute. Any kind of cookie, brownie, cake or otherwise, DOES NOT stand a chance in this house. I have DH and DS12 & DS14. As soon as the smell of a warm cookie travels through the house, they are gone. I usually don't even get to cool them off and put them in a container LOL But I will eat them either way. I love the homemade version better but it's SO much easier with the ready made. My family though....they don't care. Matter of fact, I have one lonely package of the premade kind. The might have to meet their maker today while the kiddies are at school. What could be better than to have the house to yourself with a nice tray of warm chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk.

I like to premake the dough (double or triple and recipe) and then roll them in balls and freeze them. Then just take out as many as you want or need at that time and bake, then eat them warm right out of the oven--yum!

Has anyone ever microwaved m&m's? You just nuke them for 10 sec.or so and they get warm in the inside with the crunchy outside-wow. Now I'm hungry for chocolate and it's not even 5am.

I make homemade chocolate chip cookies, from scratch, using the recipe from the Mennonite church cookbook my MIL gave me for my bridal shower 34 years ago. :) I usually make a double batch, about 9 dozen, at a time.

That's a great idea to make them and freeze them in balls. And m&m's microwaved....oh man I've got to try that!

I like toll house cookies made from scratch, and I love eating the dough raw!
