nervous for dh right now UPDATE 2-22

I can't take much more of this. They didn't get to talk today as the boss was out most of the day and will be gone the next 3 days on business. So another weekend of worry and nothing.
I feel for dh because he is feeling so low about it all. thank you all for your concern and I am hoping I will have some news in the next few days.

That's just what I was thinking. How mean is it to do someone like this, with all of the cuts around lately? I agree though that it doesn't seem like bad news since the boss said he owed him a really nice lunch. Don't worry about it. It was rude of him though.

I'm just grateful we still have our jobs. A hospital up near Birmingham, I think it was, closed down. I got a raise my first year, but no raise these last two years.

My DH hasn't had a raise in 3 years now. However, they've just landed several new contracts and are on mandatory 6 10s. That's 60 hour weeks....every week....for those who are counting. He's starting to get tired of so much OT and it's only been about a month!

I always get sick to my stomach when my boss calls me in his office or tells me he has to talk to me. I have never done anything wrong at work and I am a team player but he is known to cuss people out. I have actually heard him lay into someone behind closed doors once.

Yesterday they spoke briefly. And he was told. "I just need to sit down with the accountant in 3 weeks before I can do anything"

It'll be another 3 weeks (2 paychecks) until we know anything. It's a very small company. And I don't anticipate anything big- which is why I am confused as to why he needs to sit with the accountant. To me that's a stall tactic. But I will have to forget about it and wait until Feb. for an answer. Thanks for hanging in with me!

That's the way I would take it too. It would have been a lot more considerate to wait until he had everything finalized before even mentioning anything to your husband, but a raise is a raise.

I took a 4% and then a 3% and then I was laid off last november and have become a stay at home dad until I can get back at it

Hey I understand what you are going through. Dh just found out last thursday the small company he works for is closing. He has been there 15 yrs and they took 20%. I will be praying for you and hope everything works out.
