Okay, with all the problems people are having getting rooms during October, I'm getting a bit nervous about the parks being pretty crowded during our stay in mid October. I talked my friend into going now because DH and I had a great stay last year--very small crowds, etc. I don't want her to be upset with me because I steered her wrong. Also, since WDW hours are shortened during this time, have they ever extended hours because of bigger crowds?

October is HUGE convention month. There is the golf tournament. There is the relocation of CBR guests.

I really wouldn't worry.

I just went to the world the second week in Aug. Having always gone in Jan, I worried a lot after reading about:

the dreadful crowds
the horrible heat
the torrential rain storms

You know what? None of these were true for us. The crowds were very manageable with Fast Pass. The heat was no worse than it has been in Ohio- it actually wasn't bad at all!

It only rained for maybe 1 hr. in the afternoons and then cleared up for some nice evenings.

The bottom line: Don't worry--you are going to the happiest place on earth!;)

Carribean, Shades of Green and Disney Institute are closed then, thus the fill pressure on the other resorts. Not likely to be much different than you experienced before.

The resorts may seem more full, but the parks should be just about the same. Don't worry... go with the flow, use those FP's and have a great time!
