Nervous about OKW

This will be my first stay at OKW. I'll be alone, coming for the marathon, and am concerned about everything. The main pool's not open yet, and I was hoping for a hot tub. Fretting about transportation, distance from the parks, using an ecv in such a spread out place. My daugher loves OKW, she was originally planning to come, and OKW was all that was available at the time I booked. But now I'm afraid I'll be isolated and unhappy. I waitlisted BCV, but I'm afraid it won't come through. Reassure me, please?

OKW is a wonderful resort. Yes, it is more spread out than some other resorts, but with the bus service, multiple pool areas, and wonderful villas I think you will still have a great trip. Perhaps you can get a villa that is close to a bus stop or to the HH to reduce the issue of getting around.

The only problem I can possibly forsee for you is having the ECV, it may be a little tricky to get a room that is convenient to both the main check-in area and a hot tub, with the current construction.

Will you be storing your ECV in "Papa's Den" or having it in your room? That would probably be the deciding factor.

OKW has 3 other hot tubs and pools besides the main pool area.

I thought i'd have to have it in the room. Also concerned about dealing with in bad weather in a hotel that isn't "all in one piece".

Many people who are ambulatory enough to get around the resort without the ECV, park them in "Pappa's Den", the library like area connected to main check-in. There are electrical outlets for charging the ecvs.

You can also keep it in your room, but the studios, with 2 real queen sized beds at OKW, can feel "cluttered" with an ECV. Since you are traveling solo, it probably wouldn't be as much of a problem for you as someone with several companions.

I'd keep an umbrella handy, you never know what the weather will do, so you won't get too wet going from your room to a bus stop, pool, hot tub, restaurant, etc.
