We are going on our first Disney cruise this February -- 3 nights, with Atlantis excursion the first day and a cabana at Castaway Cay the second day. I know February temps can vary greatly (been to the parks at this time several times), and I'm getting nervous that colder temps will ruin the cruise. Can anyone please make me feel better about this??

you never can tell
either way you will have fun family time!

What can anyone say apart from you will have a great cruise regardless and a cabana to enjoy as well?
Pack some light weight warm weather clothing as per the dcl website, and hope for the best.
I hope you relax before your cruise, because this is not the sort of thing the build up to a cruise vacation is supposed to be about!

Don't worry, it's not consuming my thoughts, lol. Mostly just looking forward to it! Maybe I should get off Disboards and just go to bed :-P.

I would agree, and go to bed and dream of your cruise!
Don't be nervous, and DO NOT look at the weather again until 2 days before your cruise! Consider yourself told! lol!

Juliekzp, I live right here in central FL and it has been hotter than Hades the last several days. Winters in FL are generally really mild, gorgeous in fact. I have done week long cruises in January with DCL a few times, including once when central FL was having record breaking lows. It was very chilly before we left port, but by the time we got a day or so out, the weather was much more pleasant and warm. Odds are you will have good weather. but being prepared as C6PT7 says is always a good idea too. :flower3:

Generally speaking, the end of February/beginning of march is the best time to go to the Caribean. The oceans are calm, the temperatures tend to be 75-85, no rain, and it is off-season so cheaper and less crowded. We always go this time of the year/.

We are going on a 7 night on January 30th and we live in Orlando (we are having a really strange winter)
The weather should be stunning in late January and early February. The water temps will probably be in the mid 70's and the air temps probably closer to 80 than anything else. The last winter trip we took to the Bahamas was December 2014 and the water was too chilly for my taste, but the air temps were wonderful.

Check the weather channel app a couple of days before departure for the Bahamas for a better idea of temperatures for the time you will be there.
The 10 day forecast can be helpful if you look at it as close to departure as possible.

Have a fantastic cruise!

We were on the Wonder last year early February. During the day, it was very warm, mostly sunny with an occasional rain shower. I definitely recommend a wind breaker and maybe a light sweater for the evening (but I'm a Florida so I get cold easily). Unfortunately, we were unable to dock at CC due to very high winds. I'm reluctant to tell you this because I don't want to cause you more concern, but this occasionally happens. We were disappointed at first, but they added a ton of activities for our unplanned sea day and it was still a wonderful day. Stick with the shorts and swimwear and throw in an extra layer and you will be fine.

Don't worry about the weather. Worrying isn't going to change what the weather will do. Enjoy your cruise.

I've been on 3 D. cruises in February and the weather is always perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. Once we had rain in St. Thomas but it didn't last long. I do, however, always wear a wrap or light cardigan in the evenings when I go out on deck and for the air conditioned dining room. Otherwise, it's great!
