Nervous about car rental

My tendency to worry myself silly is really rearing its ugly head with this trip planning!

Anyways, my boyfriend and I are renting a car from Alamo in May, and we've already made the reservations and used their 'pre-pay' service. The car will be rented under my boyfriend's name because 1.) I don't use credit cards, so don't have one I could make a reservation with, 2.) His car insurance covers rentals, mine doesn't.

The only problem with any of this is that he has a DUI (ugh, he was such a mess before I met him and whipped him into shape  ) on his driving record, but it actually happened in August 2002. Since then, he has had a completely clean driving record, with not so much as a speeding ticket. By the time we are ready to rent the car, the item in question will be 45 months old. According to Alamo's website, they say that "Rental privileges are denied if a driver's license is suspended or his/her record includes, but is not limited to, one of the following:* DWI/DWAI/DUI within the past 36 months".

Should I be worried about this then? It obviously is beyond their 36 month criteria, but the "is not limited to" language has me worried. Has anyone ever been denied a rental for something similar? I know you can pay an additional fee to run an early check to make sure you won't be denied, but I thought I'd see what you all thought first. Thanks for any thoughts.

You should not worry. The "is not limited to" refers specifically to the REASON for suspension, not how long ago it occurred.
