I have heard that the submarines are scheduled to open on June 11. It this still the consensus or has anyone heard anything different?

Last year I went to DL and upgraded my hopper ticket to a season pass so that I could use it again this year to rider the new Finding Nemo submarine Voyages. However, my pass runs out on June 7 so I booked my vacation accordingly, meaning that I will leave 4 days before the ride is suppose to open. Which is so sad and just my luck.

Does anyone know if it is likely they will do a soft opening for this attraction?
Since this is a makeover of an old ride, I wonder how that compares to Space Mountain's opening or the Monster's Inc opening?

I know that Monster's Inc had a software opening before the official opening, but I don't think Space Mountain did, but as I recall they were sort of crunched for time since it was needed to be open before the 50th birthday celebration (7-17-2005).

If anyone has insight on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have considered changing my flight, but at this late date, nearby hotyels are either booked or outrageously expensive. Thanks in advance

Sorry, but it looks like the schedule for Nemo is tight. There is concern whether they will be able to meet the June 11 date. It appears that soft openings will be minimal. There have been some recent threads on this. Here is a link:

A short summary of relevant points. This is all according to the article.

Evidently in January, an insignificant water line turned out to be a main trunk line. There was a muddy mess. So they had to rework the plumbing. They're now working 24 hours a day. So they've used up all their cushion time. In short, there is a time crunch.

State regulators will sign off sometime in late may or early June. they're planning two days of cast member only soft openings on June 3 and 4, and Two days of AP soft openings on June 6, and 7.

The ride capacity is only about 800-1000 riders per hour. So that means about 25k ap holders will be able to ride out of over 650k passholders. So Disney is contemplating some sort of lottery rather than having a mad rush.

Of course that leaves post June 11 through the end of June wide open when all the ap holders with black out dates will be trying to get that ride in.

Even through the summer it's going to be crunched.

End of summary.

Adding to the above, Al Lutz would normally have had his most recent update last Tuesday, March 13 (every three weeks is typical for him). But he didn't. I have a strong suspicion that he delayed this update because he is getting more Nemo info.

In truth, I am planning a trip the last week of June and am concerned they are going to slip Nemo until July. So I have delayed locking in those dates until the next Al Lutz update. I am keeping my fingers crossed he posts his update tomorrow so I can lock in our June trip.

Looks pretty iffy huh? I appreciate all of your info. I will keep a check on the sites above for updates.
