any tips from those who have been and gotten on the ride without a LONG wait. I have been hearing the lines have been 3 hours.

I am going Sunday the 9th and really want to ride it as I normally go to DisneyWorld and so I want to hit the things that are different at DL.

If you get in early to DL - is this ride open as one of the early entry rides.... and what ways can I get in early?

Thanks a bunch.

you could 'break' you leg and use a wheelchair all day...
but I don't know how fun that would be.

It's probably a long wait no matter what you do.

Being at the very front of the line at the gates before the park opens is key. So getting there a good half hour before opening.

QUICKLY walking over straight to Nemo.

For us we used our EE day. It's much easier to accomplish this on an EE day. We were on the first sub out for the morning.

While this might work for other rides, it will certainly not work for Nemo because they have a separate building for handicapped guests because guests in wheelchairs can't board the subs.

Sunday is not an EE day. So if you arrive at least 30 minutes before park opening on Sunday, you should be able to get on the ride within 30 minutes of park opening assuming it doesn't have technical difficulties. If you have EE on Monday or Saturday, I do not recommend using EE for Nemo. Most people who show up for EE will go to Nemo and the Nemo line can get past an hour by the end of EE. I also don't like the idea of using a whole EE hour for 1 ride. Use it to get way more Fantasyland rides (around 7/8) in the same amount of time.

My 5 year old gets MAJOR motion sickness, so since he wouldn't be able to ride the sub we asked if we could use the 'observation room'. It's quite cool, but we still had to wait in the line (all 2 hours of it). But I would definitely agree that the weekday EE, and get to the front gates early and you probably will have a short wait. Many people did this while we were there (I wonder if they got the idea from the DIS ???), and it seemed to work for them. Good luck!! ;)

I would normally agree about not using an EE day for one ride. But it depends on a few things. For us the rest of the days of our trip the crowds were low in the morning, on Non-EE days. So we were already able to ride the FL rides just like an EE day in the mornings.

It also depends on how badly you want to see Nemo. We really wanted to see it, it was opening week. Was a bit of a challenge for us to ride it once on the trip! So since we already did FL for a few mornings we were good to use our EE for it.

Also if your at the front of the gates at opening on EE, and you get to Nemo quick enough you'll probably still have time for a few other rides. We got off of Nemo and did Space and Buzz before that hour was up. That was with waiting about 20 minutes for them to "test" the subs for the day.

what about this??

Disneyland Extends Operating Hours for Finding Nemo

The queues for this attraction have been extremely lengthy. In response to this, Disney is now allowing guests to join the queue line for this popular attraction until park closing. Those on line at that time can remain while the ride continues operating for an additional two and half hours after the park has closed.

The queue has also been enhanced with the distribution of the "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage" activity guide. Inside is a list of "Hidden Nemos" and games.

Also featured in the park are Nemo themed snacks for purchase.

Okay, You actually can. I broke mine,(I really did) and I can limp, but not around the park. So, we waited on line the first day it opened for 2 hours, I had trouble getting on, but it was worth the pain. Even tohugh it took 5 minutes for me to get out, lol.

I've found this true for pretty much any ride.....if you're in line upon park closing, they'll let you stay to ride, regardless of how long the line is. I'm not certain other rides would NEED two and a half hours after park closing to allow guests to ride, but that is a DL park rule. At least each time we've been.....can't count that high :lmao: , but it has been every time ;)

I've ridden the subs twice, getting in line just before and during the fireworks show. Our wait times were 65 and 55 minutes. Getting in line just before the fireworks means that a sizeable number of guests are watching the fireworks OR on the other side of the park where the first showing of Fantasmic just finished.

Of course, this approach doesn't work if you actually want to see the fireworks or Fantasmic, but I thought I'd put it out there. :)

Last Tuesday I managed to get into the first sub of the day and out of it within the first 20 minutes of park opening. What I did was: get to the gates an hour before opening, (it was an EE day).As soon as they finish the countdown just RUN down Mainstreer and towards the Matternhorn, or until CMs tell you to slow down, after which you can walk at a brisk pace. If you do that you'll be one of the first people to get in line and hopefully ride one of the first few subs. Like you I wanted to make sure that I went on this ride without much wait, and luckily I was able to.
HOpe this helps.

thansk to everyone..that confirms my thoughts....GET there a half hour early at least before opening ....and RUN to NEMO!!!

I hope the lines won't be long next month when we go. I assumed there wouldn't be much of a wait by then, but now I'm starting to wonder. You'd think they would have died down considerably by now.

Even with lower crowds, there's a rumor that they will be working on the subs in October. Taking them out one by one to work on them, and by removing even one sub, the capacity decreases greatly. So you may see lines between 1 and 2 hours. Just warning you.

CarolAnnC and I rode this last week. It's an extremely well done attraction. While we were waiting, I did notice one of the subs parked across from the loading platform with two guys working on it. Not sure what they were doing, it didn't look like anything major, but it had it's boarding platform open and they looked like they were working right in that area.

I bow down to all of you early-morning Nemo riders. I am sooooo not a morning person. LOL! But it sure sounds like a great way to minimize your wait time.

Speaking of which, one of my friends pointed out that there's still a little bit of a wait for the first sub riders of the morning. If you get to DL 30 minutes before opening, your wait time is effectively 30 minutes. If you get there 1 hour before opening, your wait time is 60 minutes. After all, there's not much difference between waiting in line at the turnstile (or rope drop) vs. waiting in line in the Nemo queue. You're still waiting. :) I know it doesn't feel the same as waiting in the queue line, but it's pretty much the same thing.

Regardless, it's still a much shorter wait than going in the middle of the day. And you're beating the heat. :goodvibes

That is really weird. There is supposed to be a separate line for the viewing room (at least there was when it opened), I think someone did not know what they were talking about when they told you to wait in that line... unless they did away with the Observation Room line already.

Yeah....we were there only a couple of weeks after it opened. I'm thinking maybe they were only allowing people in a separate line that couldn't stand for that amount of time (broken legs, etc). Not really sure though. We didn't mind....we had fun finding all of the hidden nemo's in the landscape ;)

This is true, but the difference I see is if I got in line for an hour say at 10 am, that is an hour wasted when I could have been on many other rides by then. Waited for the park to open, still is waiting, but not time wasted that could be spent on other rides! We got Nemo over first thing, and had the whole day to ride everything else! :thumbsup2

dosent DL have fastpass like DW??? im going for the 1st time next aug and i really wanna ride nemo
